Chef Antonia Lofaso has become a Food Network star. She's appeared on numerous shows, won Food Network competitions, and become a popular judge on several competition shows. Now, for the first time, Chef Antonia has stepped into the hosting spotlight as the M.C for a brand new competition show. Beachside Brawl has a unique concept: pitting East Coast Chefs vs West Coast Chefs in a battle to see which Beachside is the best when it comes to four star cuisine. June is Men's Health Month and Dr. Andy Peterson from OSF Saint Luke Medical Center joined Wake Up Tri-Counties to share some statistics about Men's Health in the State of Illinois. Dr. Peterson discussed encouraging people to quit smoking, trying to get men to eat better and convincing men to take their mental health more seriously. All of these elements can help save lives and prevent families from losing fathers, brothers, uncles and cousins, well before their time.

The Midsommar Music Festival is taking place on Saturday, June 25th in Bishop Hill. It will be a day filled with music, dancing, the Maypole, great food and so much more in lovely Bishop Hill. Todd Dedecker from the Bishop Hill Heritage Association talked about Midsommar, it's terrific line up of bands, and the long and storied Swedish history of the festival on Wake Up Tri-Counties earlier this week.

The Henry and Stark County Health Department have announced a pop-up COVID-19 vaccination clinic for children ages 6 months to 5 years old. The pediatric Pop-Up Clinic will be held on Wednesday, June 29th from 10 Am to 3 Pm. It's a walk-in clinic so no appointment is needed to get the vaccination. RaeAnn Tucker from the Henry and Stark County Health Department was our guest this week on Wake Up Tri-Counties and discussed the Pop-Up Clinics and more news from the Henry and Stark County Health Department.

Dr, Chris Sullens joined Wake Up Tri-Counties earlier this week to talk about the progress of several projects going on this Summer at Kewanee High School and to follow up on other items covered at Monday's Kewanee School Board Meeting. In our conversation we talked about the excellent progress on the new turf for the Football Field. We also discussed progress on the new Ag Building which is getting a little help from dirt taken from the Football Field. We also discussed projects at Belle Alexander and in Neponset as well. Dr. Sullens also touched on the announcement that current Teacher and Athletic Director, Tim Atwell has set a retirement date for 5 years from now. This interview was done on Tuesday, June 21st, one day before the announcement that Kewanee High School Principal, Jamie Bryan, would be resigning to become the Superintendent of the Annawan School District.

On the latest edition of Kewanee Back When Dave Clark and Sean Kernan talked with author and historian, Dean Karau about his new book "A Brief History of the First Years of Kewanee Parks." The book details the historic beginnings of Kewanee Parks including those that no longer exist and those that have stood the test of time. It's a story filled with detail and characters, the men and women who made it possible for our parks to grow and thrive. Singer Carrie Welling credits her father for getting her into music as a child. As a performer she's found many other inspirations while spending the past 8 years writing music in Nashville, recording records, and playing for crowds across the country. Tonight at 6 Pm, Carrie Welling will be performing at Ca d’Zan House Concerts in Cambridge. The evening begins with a potluck at 6 Pm and the concert follows at 7 Pm.
