In our weekly conversation with our friends from OSF Healthcare, we spoke with Samantha Rux and Stephanie Eddins from the Behavioral Health Department at OSF Saint Clare Medical Center. Stephanie was on hand specifically to discuss behavioral health services for Seniors. OSF Saint Clare has support groups, therapy, and other services to aid Seniors in need of grief counseling, anxiety, depression or other behavioral health needs. Lakeisha Jones and Etta LaFlora from the newly formed Kewanee Committee on Human Relations, joined Wake Up Tri-Counties on Friday morning. Junetheenth is this weekend, June 19th, and Etta and Lakeisha were on hand to give us the history of Juneteenth and why it is now a federal holiday. The rich history of the celebration of the end of slavery is one that has long been celebrated in black communities but has only recently been adopted as a National Holiday.

Mollie Bennett of Cambridge is your new Henry County Fair Queen for 2022. Mollie, who will soon be off to college in Wisconsin, joined Wake Up Tri-Counties to talk about winning the Crown, her fellow Queen competitors and how fun and supportive they all were, and the excitement of the little kids when they see the Queen at the Fair. Mollie is a wonderfully genuine and smart young who will undoubtedly represent Henry County wonderfully at the Miss Illinois Pageant which she qualified for with her win in Henry County. Queen Mollie Bennett was our guest on Friday on Wake Up Tri-Counties.

Henry and Stark County experienced another slight uptick in COVID-19 cases for the previous 7 days, ending Tuesday, June 14th, 2022. In Henry County there were 122 new confirmed COVID-19 cases. In Stark County there were 22 news confirmed cases. RaeAnn Tucker from the Henry and Stark County joined Wake Up Tri-Counties to go over the latest numbers, talk about the guidance for parents of kids under 6 years old now that smaller doses of the vaccine are ready to distribute, Finally, RaeAnn talked about how the Henry and Stark County Health Department is at the Henry County Fair, in the pavilion all week.
