OSF Saint Luke Medical Center is holding a Job Fair on Tuesday in Galesburg. Potential new mission partners looking for work in the Healthcare industry in Galesburg, Kewanee, Monmouth and Princeton are encouraged to attend the job fair at which interviews will be conducted and job offers may be extended. The job fair will be held at OSF St Mary Medical Center located at 3333 Seminary Street in Galesburg from 3 Pm to 7 Pm. Samantha Rux from OSF Healthcare spoke to WKEI about the Job Fair on Monday morning before turning things over to Melinda Shimmin who spoke to WKEI about wellness check ups at OSF Saint Luke Medical Center.

RaeAnn Tucker from the Henry and Stark County Health Department was our guest on Wake Up Tri-Counties on Thursday, December 30th. RaeAnn joined us to talk about the continuing uptick in COVID-19 cases this holiday season and the immense burden the new positive cases are placing on all Healthcare workers. RaeAnn also discussed changes are that are coming in the area of Contact Tracing and new guidelines from the CDC regarding those who are fully vaccinated and boosted and how long they may have to quarantine if exposed to COVID-19. Fully vaccinated individuals will have a shorter quarantine time than unvaccinated individuals under these guidelines.

On the latest edition of Kewanee Back When, Sean Kernan and Dave Clarke welcome local author and historian, Larry Lock from the Kewanee Historical Society to discuss his book, Kewanee 1854 to 2000 which has been redesigned and re-released in a brand new form. Though initially created as part of a Henry County history project in 2000, and re-printed in full in a 2005 edition of the Star Courier, Larry's new version of Kewanee 1854 to 2000 is a stand alone piece, a remembrance of important people and moments in the history of Kewanee. On this edition of Kewanee Back When we reminisce about how the book came to be written and the many influential local historians who've helped to preserve Kewanee history through the years.

Kewanee Schools Superintendent Dr Chris Sullens was our guest on Wake Up Tri-Counties on Tuesday, December 21st. Dr Sullens joined WKEI to recap Monday night's Kewanee School Board Meeting. At that meeting the annual Tax Levy was set, student athletes were honored for their accomplishments in Fall Sports, and recently completed and soon to begin construction projects at each Kewanee school were discussed by board members.
