Pregnant women should get vaccinated against COVID-19. That's the word from OB/GYN, Dr Christopher Jones at Memorial Hospital. Dr Jones spoke to MacombNewsNow.com in order to encourage pregnant women to get vaccinated. According to Dr Jones, the vaccine is safe for women who are pregnant or who have recently given birth and are nursing babies. Getting vaccinated is far safer and healthier for both mother and baby than the getting infected with COVID-19 and being unvaccinated.

Black Hawk College is celebrating 75 years since they college was founded with the Quad Cities campus. Jeff Hawes is with Black Hawk College and he joined Wake Up Tri-Counties on Wednesday to discuss the anniversary, the partnership with the Henry County Office of Emergency Management to use the campus to provide COVID-19 Booster Shots, and the activities at the Black Hawk College Community Education Center in Kewanee.

Eddie Tolliver from the Kewanee Salvation Army and Linda Blair from the Kewanee Area United Way joined WKEI on Wake Up Tri-Counties on Wednesday to discuss the partnership between the Kewanee Area United Way and the Kewanee Salvation Army. Eddie then talked about what's coming up for the Salvation Army including the start of the Bell ringing season, just around the corner, and other holiday events that will also be fundraisers for the Salvation Army. Then, of course, there is the Toy Drive and the Angel Tree which will be going up very soon at Wal Mart in Kewanee.
