Coach Swanson talked about the terrific play of Will Bruno, the timely play of the Boilermaker Defense and the importance of capitalizing on turnovers as the Boilermakers did last week in a win over Morrison. The Boilermakers play St Bede tonight in Kewanee and live on WJRE Hog Country 102.5 FM.

The Kewanee Public Library Art Show begins on September 30th with the deadline of September 21st and 22nd to submit your artwork for display during the show period. Sara Billiet from the Kewanee Public Library joined Wake Up Tri-Counties to talk about the Art Show and the new Kewanee Public Library Text List.

There was an increase of more than 180 new cases of COVID-19 between September 1st and September 8th releases of the latest Recovery Rate Data. Hospitals in the area are struggling to find open beds and Henry and Stark County remain on the Orange Warning list due to the increasing number of cases and the declining amount of hospital beds available for patients. RaeAnn Tucker from the Henry and Stark County Health Department joined Wake Up Tri-Counties to once again call for me people to get vaccinated.

The Henry County Farm Bureau is making final preparations for their next Market Outlook Seminar. Attendees must make arrangements to attend the Market Outlook Seminar at Lavender Crest Winery by close of business on September 9th. The seminar will feature Economist Brian Basting and will take place on September 16th at 6:15 Pm. Katie Laleman from the Henry County Farm Bureau talked about the last minute preparations for the seminar along with topics including Farm Safety Week later this month and in October the next Farm Bureau Frozen Meal Program.

The Kewanee Area United Way and OSF Saint Luke Medical Center are teaming to raise funds for the United Way. Darcy James is the President of the United Way and she along with Jessica Turnbull and Samantha Rux from OSF Saint Luke Medical Center joined WKEI to talk about the partnership and fundraising efforts between OSF Saint Luke Medical Center and the Kewanee Area United Way. Among the fundraising plans a visit from Henhouse Barbecue on Wednesday, September 15th. The Henhouse Barbecue Food Truck will be at OSF Saint Luke Medical Center from 11 Am to 2 Pm. A portion of the sales that day will be donated to the Kewanee Area United Way.
