Next week, Sunday, September 13th through September 20th, it is National Assisted Living Week. WKEI welcomed Maisey Postin from Peterson Healthcare to join us on People to People to talk about National Assisted Living Week and how they plan on celebrating even if those celebrations have to be celebrated much differently than in the past. From cook outs to virtual yoga to Facebook Live, Zoom and vehicle parades, the Courtyard Villages in Kewanee, Galva and Bradford are coming up with inventive ways of keeping residents engaged and involved.

The 80's rock band Stryper has released their 13th studio album "Even the Devil Believes" featuring the new single called "Do Unto Others." Michael Sweet is lead singer of Stryper and he joined WKEI today to talk about the band's 34 year history, including their biggest hit "To Hell with the Devil" and what the band has been up to over the last three decades and how they've adjusted to the new landscape of music and the modern era of quarantine and COVID.

Katie Laleman from the Henry County Farm Bureau was our guest on Tuned In on WKEI on Wednesday. Katie dropped by to talk about what is coming up with the Farm Bureau's Market Outlook Seminars. She also discussed the upcoming Farm Safety Week which happening in the middle of September. And Katie also made everyone aware that Bushels For Hunger is kicking off once again on October 1st. It's a chance for farmers to make a difference in helping to feed those in need via a donation from their grain harvest. Proceeds benefit local food banks.

RaeAnn Tucker from the Henry and Stark County Health Department joined WKEI on Tuesday to share the latest numbers related to COVID-19 in Henry and Stark County. 4 people in Henry County have now died after being diagnosed with COVID-19. 1 Person in Stark County has died. Both counties have seen increases enough to place both in the Orange warning level with the possibility of having restrictions put back in place similar to those in place in Phase 3 of the Governor's re-opening plan.

The new season of American Ninja Warrior may be the most challenging season yet. Shot inside of a bubble in St. Louis at the former home of the Rams football team, this is the first full season of television to have been shot entirely during the COVID-19 pandemic. Dr Andy Petersen joined WKEI to talk about concussions and what parents need to know about concussions as we return to High School Sports in the fall and winter. We talked to Dr Petersen about baseline testing for concussions and what to watch for after someone takes a blow to the head to more quickly recognize the signs of a potential concussion. High Schools across the state of Illinois have created new protocols around head injury intended to try and make High School sports safer and we discussed what can be done to protect players with Dr Petersen.

Alex Winter is enjoying his third go around as the character Bill S Preston in Bill and Ted Face the Music. We talked with Alex today about the second weekend of Bill and Ted's new adventure on the big and small screen. Alex says the fans are the ones who are responsible for bringing Bill and Ted back to life, even more than he and Keanu's desire to play these characters again. We talked to Alex about the new and old cast assembled for the movie and what it was like to return this beloved character.
