Cassandra Schmoll from the Henry County Senior Center joined WKEI on Tuned In on Thursday. Last month, the Senior Center had to be completely shutdown for two weeks after a member of the office staff tested positive for COVID-19. Cassandra tells WKEI that they want to assure everyone that this was not an outbreak and that no one else on staff tested positive. The Senior Center has been completely sanitized and they are back at work on the Home Delivered Meal Program.

Journalist Wesley Lowery has been on the scene in Kenosha since the shooting of Jacob Blake broke into the headlines. Recently, it was Wesley who had the opportunity to sit down with the Blake family as well as Raysean White, the 22 year old man who filmed the shooting from his window. The Kewanee Murals are an entirely volunteer and fundraising effort and not something paid for by the City of Kewanee. Dianne Packee, a member of the Kewanee Walldogs Mural Committee joined WKEI on Wednesday on Tuned In to talk about the private fundraising effort to dedicate the 20th Kewanee Mural to Walworth, formerly one of the largest employers in all of Kewanee. The Walldog Mural Committee announced on Monday that Walworth had been chosen as the subject of the next Kewanee Mural and we asked Dianne about how the committee came to choose Walworth, how much money needs to be raised for the new mural and get the word out that a location for the next mural is being sought.
