Kewanee Mayor Gary Moore joined WKEI on Tuned In on Tuesday, August 25th, 2020, to follow up on Monday's Kewanee City Council Meeting. In our interview the Mayor addressed the controversy that arose during Monday's meeting when Councilman Mike Yaklich claimed that City Manager Gary Bradley gave special instructions to the owner of Moore Tires regarding the bidding for the Parking Lot Property owned by the City of Kewanee that was put up for sale. Mr Bradley denied giving instructions and Moore Tires' owner denied receiving any special instructions. According to both, the question was of whether this type of escalating bid had been seen before in municipal property auctions. The City Manager stated that he had seen this type of bid before and did not offer any further guidance or instruction to Moore Tires.

We asked Dr Martin what Convalescent Plasma is and what the treatment does. We also talked about ventilators and what the latest information regarding COVID-19 and ventilator treatment is.

The business has a rich history in Princeton. It began in the 1930s as Lenihan’s Place before becoming the Greasy Spoon from the 80s until 1986 when it became The Spoon. In 2015, Greta Kelly bought the building and added her personal touch to the restaurant by changing the name to “Spoons.”
Kelly has maintained many of the past traditions as the bar well still overflows with change, and customers can still weigh themselves on the original scale. The bar and bar stools are also the same as they have been for decades.
Spoons motto is “Fresh, Friendly, Foodie Approved”. In addition to indoor dining, Spoons offers outside seating and curbside pickup. Hours are Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Kelly says they hope to return to Sunday hours in the near future.

Marshall Jones, Chairman of the Henry County Board joined WKEI on Tuned In on Friday. Mr Jones recapped everything that took place at Thursday night's relatively brief Henry County Board Meeting. Mr Jones also addressed the growing number of COVID-19 infections in the county and called on citizens to take precautions when going out. Masks, distance, hand washing, hand sanitizer and on down the line of mitigation is the best way to stay safe while still getting out and enjoying yourself.

RaeAnn Tucker from the Henry and Stark County Health Department joined WKEI on Thursday with the latest Recovery Rate Data from the Health Department. According to the data, 43% of people in Henry and Stark County who have tested positive for COVID-19 are not reporting their symptom status to the Henry and Stark County Health Department. Contact tracing continues but without the cooperation of those who test positive, the numbers can be difficult to quantify. We talked about the challenges of gathering recovery rate data and the rising rate of infection in Region 2, Henry County's region, on this edition of People to People.
