The Village of Neponset is working toward a matching grant from the State of Illinois that will allow the Village to make improvements at Scott Park in Neponset. Those improvements include a new pavillion among other amenities. The Village has begun a GoFundMe campaign to raise $25,000 that will go toward a matching grant. The overall goal of the fundraiser is actually closer to $100,000 which would include a new installment in tribute to Neponset veterans. That's what Braveheart is all about, advocacy for children who have suffered abuse. The trained counselors at Braveheart are called in by law enforcement to be a child's voice and advocate throughout whatever legal ordeal their abuse brings them to. As Taylor tells WKEI in this interview, the staff at Braveheart receive special training to be able to help children of abuse navigate the legal process.
