Today we talk about all our strategies, complaints, and action plans for cold and flu season. ‘Tis the season for children to start swapping all the nastiest germs to each other, and we are here to cover the miseries of each virus that ails us. Join us as we share stories of our darkest hours of stomach viruses, the panic we felt when an entire class at our elementary school caught a devil-virus, and the sinking feelings we’ve had as we learn we are in the presence of a sick person…in public. Joy shares her own unfortunate experience of being in the unlucky population of people who suffer from a stomach virus every year, typically multiple times a year. She has facts to share, myths to unravel, and tips to help kill the virus if it plagues your home (TIP- Lysol spray and Clorox wipes do not kill the stomach virus!) We totally recognize that some situations can be a tough call and that not all situations are cut and dry. There are so many complications to having a sick child…Who stays home with the child, do you keep the other kids home, what if you need ‘sick supplies’, what if you’re sick and you have children who need care….the list goes on and on. As passionate as we can be (especially Joy) we totally realize this isn’t a one size fits all situation. So, tell us…what is your protocol for when someone is sick in your home? What preventative measures do you take when someone comes down with a virus? How do you help your child feel better when they are sick? What are your feelings about letting a sick child into your presence?
