In part 13 of our James series, guest speaker, Shaun Wilcock, teaches us that suffering is a painful but universal part of life that can challenge our faith, but James calls us to respond with patience, endurance, and trust in God’s promises rather than losing heart or turning on others. We look at examples like Job, and focus on the hope of future restoration, and are encouraged to remain faithful, believing that God is present and working even in the midst of suffering.

In part 13 of our James series, guest speaker, Fiona Keatings, shares that in James 5:7–12 believers facing injustice are called to respond with patience and endurance, trusting God as the ultimate judge rather than reacting with grumbling, harsh words, or attempts to take justice into their own hands. True patience means self-restraint, especially in speech, and is expressed through forgiveness, which frees individuals from bitterness while trusting God to bring justice in His timing.

In part 12 of our James series, Brian challenges us to truly live out our faith, especially in how we handle money, warning against letting wealth take priority over God or lead to selfish, unjust behaviour.

In part 11 of our series through James, Brian shares that pride, seen in judging others and making life plans without God, places people “over” rather than humbly “under” God, which is the posture we are called to live in.

In part 10 of our series on James, Re:Hope Southside’s Lead Pastor, Crooksy, explores James 4:1-10. We see how the choice between worldly wisdom and godly wisdom plays out in our lives, helping us to diagnose where we need to make adjustments so we can actively resist the devil and draw close to God.

Continuing to part 10 in our James series, Laura shared on James 4:1-10 and the amazing promise: come close to God and God will come close to you. She talked about the importance of humility, resisting evil & heartfelt repentance for a life of deep & intimate friendship with God.

This Easter Sunday Brian shares that Jesus’ resurrection is a historically credible event that proves His identity and opens the way for forgiveness, new life, and a restored relationship with God.

On Palm Sunday this year, we reflect on the significance of this day and Holy Week. Brian highlights Jesus’ journey to the cross and his example of prayer, encouraging believers to deepen their own prayer lives during this pivotal time.

In part 9 of our James series, we look at James 3:13-18 and learn that true wisdom is not about knowledge or intellect but is shown through a humble, God-centred life marked by good deeds, peace, and genuine care for others.

In part 8 of our James series, Brian teaches that our words are powerful and can either build people up or cause great harm, like a small spark starting a large fire. Christians are therefore called to use their words to bless, encourage, and guide others toward God rather than to tear people down.
