Reignsborough

This is it!  At long last after eight sandbox episodes and two zero issues, our first issue of Knights of Reignsborough is here! A city grieves as its hero – the Knight of Reignsborough himself – Partisan is laid to rest.  No greater champion for justice has the world ever known.  Who… what will fill […]

In Knights of Reignsborough Issue #0, we learned about Hair Trigger, Ricochet and The Coyote.  We learned where they were when Partisan died, what they did.  In this issue, we meet a young doctor whose bright future crumbles to dark knights in our fair city.  And we are ministered to by Father Dominic Argento, a […]

Remember how we said that Sandbox Session 7 was our final sandboxing session? Well, we went and got ourselves a new player, which means we needed one more turn in the sandbox. In this episode, Andrew (aka New Jonathan) joins the team and we run him through character generation. While the artwork and title reveal […]

This may be our eighth Knights of Reignsborough episode, but it is our 7th – and final – sandbox session.  This time around we discuss two house rules designed to support the style we’re wanting to foster and create the environment for authentic comic character development. We explore the core concept mechanic.  You know what […]

In grand holo-foil-chromium-gate-fold-cover tradition, we bring you the Zero Issue for Knights of Reignsborough.  This special issue zero acts as introduction to three of the four main characters of the series. Where were they on the day the world changed? Hair Trigger artwork courtesy of Jake Ekiss.

This episode has a much different flavor than our previous entries.  This one’s not so sandboxy as the rest.  In fact, it’s not really sandboxy at all. In this week’s episode, we get down to the nuts and bolts of statting out characters.  And as in all character generation sessions, we chase rabbits, but in […]

In addition to fleshing out the player characters with back-story and supporting cast, this time around we explore story boundaries.  What’s fair game in terms of encroaching on core character concepts?  What’s off-limits?  Are there different rules for different players?  We talk it all out. Plus… …Characters are named! …Balls are busted! …And, oh yes, […]

This time, we kick around character concepts.  Each of the players presents three different character ideas, they are discussed and then the group votes on their preferences with the player making the ultimate decision as to which one will be played. Some terrific ideas are pitched. Plus, a terrible secret is teased…! Join Aron, Paul, […]

In this the third episode in our world building series for sandbox supers RPG we have…. History! Racial tensions! Monorails! A city name! Factions and political power! Pizza! Hot, player-on-player action! Spelling! … All this plus a city under the city and what’s going to make the game cool in this episode of Knights of […]

In our second sandbox episode, we get deep into our setting.  We work on neighborhoods figuring out the local color.  Tim changes his mind. Asian architectural styles are compared and contrasted! Ninjas appear! Jonathan continues to tilt at that windmill… A city under the city. Plus, a special appearance by The Piano Man! Thoughts on […]
