Everyone looks at me crazy.
I am not like your typical 23 year old.
And I remember this specific moment when someone agreed with my ways.
I was at bible study with a pastor.
And we were discussing the bible and how you don’t have to take it literal all of the time because it teaches different lessons.
This was music to my ear.
Everytime I would talk like this, people would think that I’m crazy.
But this pastor didn’t.
And he left me with a message that I would never forget when it comes to anything I do in life.
Different is better.
If you try to be better at something, you will continue to do the same things the same way but try to improve.
Instead try it from a different angle.
And almost always it would be better because it is completely different.
Taking this into consideration, I try to do everything different than the masses.
Whatever the typical person is doing at my age, I don’t.
Be different.
And you will almost always be doing better.

January 24, 2021 Consistency pays off
The first year was rough.
I went -$5,000 as far as money made from my copywriting business.
How am I in the negative?
Well I spent $5,000 on copywriting programs and books in 2020.
And it paid off.
I just got my first paying client.
And it was only for fifty bucks but it is some money coming in from a skill I put in a year trying to learn.
I wasn’t sitting around doing nothing.
There was work being done for clients in exchange for a testimony.
Results were being made.
And now it is being used as leverage to show my clients to help close them.
A year down and I got results.
Would you be willing to stay that strong for so long?
Start being consistent with whatever you do and it one day will pay off for you.

January 23, 2021 How to do organic outreach
You need organic outreach.
There is no way for you to get around reaching out to potential clients.
At least to start.
Eventually you will get to the point where you will have customers or clients coming to you.
And at first you will be nervous.
Everytime it is your first time doing something, you will be nervous.
There will be rejections.
But I see rejections as one step closer to getting your first yes.
Before I would start with building value.
But people don’t usually respond to that even if you are offering a free service.
They don’t care.
Clients want results and they are willing to pay for that.
At first I would start with building a little rapport.
I might notice they are a life coach.
And that will be how I start the conversation.
“Hey I see that you are a life coach.”
And usually they would respond because I said something that would peak their interest.
Everyone loves to talk about themselves.
And eventually leads to you scheduling an appointment to talk over the phone.
Your goal is to get them on the phone to close them there.
This is your goal because you can make more money getting on the phone with a customer.
It builds trust.
They can put a voice with the face and they are more likely to pay you.
You can get more money this way.
But before this you want to build enough rapport to see how you can build value.
You will ask qualifying questions.
But you are still getting to know the prospect as well.
And you may not close the prospect.
But you get to meet amazing and positive people along the way.
You are networking.
To build your network and to close more clients..

You are the answer.
The greatest investment that you can make is in yourself.
Some say stocks.
They think stocks will get you by if you learn how to trade.
For some it works.
And for others, it will have you wasting money when the market crashes and you will lose a lot of money.
Some will talk about doing real estate.
But what happens in times of pandemics when your residents can’t pay you rent?
You don’t get paid.
These forms of passive income require you to rely on how the economy is doing.
Now I’m not saying not to invest in them.
I’m saying to not make these your primary forms of income you invest in.
All you can rely on is yourself.
Invest in yourself and learn high income skills that you can earn from.
Examples being closing, copywriting, public speaking, etc.
Developing these skills will grow your financial confidence.
It’s pandemic proof.
Financial confidence is the confidence to earn back any money you lost with the high income skills you required regardless of how the economy is doing.
In fact, during economic crises you earn more.
Everyone is worried about how they are going to make money when you are using your high income skills to generate revenue.
It cuts out the excuses too.
Whether or not you succeed depends upon how strong your skills are.

January 19, 2021 Why you should integrate your personal and business life
You are your job.
You’re probably thinking there is no way that this is a true statement.
And you know what?
You’re absolutely right!
In fact once you leave those doors at work, you are a completely different person.
Your job has nothing to do with you.
And when you are at work, you aren’t giving your all.
Well you might.
If that job is something that you truly wanted to do for the rest of your life, then you probably are.
But you aren’t enjoying it.
This isn’t what you want to do for the rest of your life, but you’re doing your best because you need a steady income.
You know that this job doesn’t define you.
Some jobs you are doing something or selling a certain way that you wouldn’t want to do it in the first place.
But you have to.
You need the money.
But your business is opposite.
You love your business because it is an expression of you.
With business, you have more choice on what you want to do and how you want to make your money.
It’s yours.
Not saying you don’t have any choice with work.
But with business you can switch it up and start doing something completely different whenever you choose to.
You can choose who you work with.
And this is what makes them different.
When it comes to your job, you are trying to separate your personal life and the job completely.
But with business you want them as intertwined as they can be.
For example, when you take vacations from your job, you are getting away for a couple weeks with pay, but you don’t want your job brought up at all when you are enjoying yourself.
With business it's the opposite.
You don’t have to set aside dates for you to go on vacation with your family or by yourself.
It’s about taking advantage of opportunities.
You may have a business trip to meet one of your clients in Miami.
And you can handle your meeting with your client, and then enjoy the Miami beaches or clubs afterwards.
Business and life are integrated.
And the best part is that you won’t mind because you love your business.

I met a personal trainer.
It was through FaceBook and I thought it was interesting how he could build a funnel for his personal training.
I personal messaged him to learn more.
There I asked him some qualifying questions to see how I could bring value.
Skip forward.
I asked, “Do you have a copywriter?”
He replied, “no.”
I followed up by asking, “would you be willing to get one if that meant getting you better results?”
He stood firm with his no.
In fact he said, “a copywriter isn’t what I need right now.”
“I need more leads, more clients, and more money.”
I couldn’t help but laugh.
Everything he explained that he needed, a copywriter provides.
And it made me realize something.
A lot of people don’t really know the job functions of a copywriter.
Including copywriters.
They believe they get paid to write.
But this isn’t true.
Copywriters get paid to generate revenue and drive results.
This could be done in many forms such as sales pages, emails, organic posts, etc.
And you’re probably thinking why would they want to only get paid a portion of what they generate for you?
Think of it like this.
A copywriter gets a slice of the pie.
At first the pie might be small.
But if they keep bringing in more dough, the pie gets bigger overall.
Which means a bigger slice.
You might think you can do this.
But copywriters such as myself spend up to years understanding the psychology of buying.
And you are merely trying to guess.
Hire a copywriter to do the work for you and drive results and stop being so cheap.

Kobe is the G.OA.T.
Most people think he is the greatest of all time because of his accolades and skill to the game of basketball.
It’s not.
He is the greatest of all time because of his mamba mentality.
Most people think they know what this is.
Mamba mentality isn’t just the ability to outwork someone every time.
There is a deeper meaning.
The mamba mentality is to continuously be a student to your craft and pick up what you can from different mentors.
And sure some think he’s a copycat of MJ.
But no.
Kobe has taken different pieces from different people’s games.
Maybe MJ’s athleticism.
But he got his post game work from “The Dream.”
You see how he modeled his game.
And this is what you can do for yourself in any craft you want.
Yes you may not have natural talent.
You may be a person who naturally talks too fast or isn’t cool.
But you can create that person who is.
Some call it being fake.
But me I see it as you changing your ways around to lead to you being successful.
It’s a constant struggle too.
Everyday successful people have to continue to work hard at being successful.
They are forever students.
So if you aren’t where you need to be today, change the person you are.

January 11, 2021 Getting comfortable in a fight
I’m a tense guy.
I really don’t know why, but everything I do for the most part is tense to some degree.
My coach told me to relax.
And he would tell me to be comfortable when we would spar.
But I didn’t know how.
How could I be comfortable when I could get punched in the face?
I have never been in this situation before.
My coach was a pro boxer so if he wanted to punch me in the face, he could do it.
Could you imagine how your own face would look getting all swole?
Not me.
And this was my reason for being nervous in tense.
But this isn’t just boxing.
Aren’t you like this with everything you do in life?
Aren’t you nervous of doing it and worry about what obstacles you may face?
This is fear.
Fear is your imagination of what the worst possible scenario could be.
You know you are going to fail.
But the thing about failing or in this case, getting punched in the face is that you will eventually learn how to block.
And there are different types of punches.
There is the jab, hook, and uppercut.
You may learn how to block or dodge the jab the first time and then you are hit with a hook.
So now you must learn to protect yourself from that.
The first time you get hit.
And maybe not the second or even tenth time, but eventually you learn to protect yourself and adapt.
Once you learn that, you are unstoppable.
This is what you must do with your failures in life.
Learn to take your failures and turn it into feedback.

My friends are family.
Some of them are closer than blood.
My closest group of friends I met through playing basketball.
We all played together for years.
I met many people through basketball, but there is one major difference between my closest friends and the ones I just know.
My close friends stuck around post basketball.
Our grind changed from basketball to winning in this game of life.
They stood on my team for good.
This is why loyalty goes such lengths.
It is difficult to find friends who are supportive regardless.
But this could be bad.
If they are supportive, but they aren’t advancing you they can stay around.
But you don’t spend the majority of your time with them.
I’m blessed to have them around.
But for some, they claim they don’t have any friends.
That could be good.
You can now build your power team from scratch.

January 07, 2021 Speak it into existence
I felt like crap after writing this piece.
It was my first product description for a couple dollars and I felt terrible after.
There was no way this was legal.
I’m charging a small business to write a few thousand words when I didn’t even know what I was doing.
I began to doubt myself.
And when I started to doubt myself, the client started to doubt me too.
I didn’t get paid all of my money.
He went ghost on me and to this day still owes me $20.
Do you see how when doubt started to creep in I started to lose money?
You have to believe in yourself.
It doesn’t matter if you just started doing whatever you started yesterday.
If you want to be successful in it, you have to see yourself as that thing.
I should’ve seen myself as a copywriter earlier.
And I would’ve been making money.
You must get comfortable speaking your success into existence.
From now on speak all positivity into existence.
