  • My Story with GLP-1's | Part 2

๐Ÿ’‰ GLP-1 Pros, Cons & The Truth Nobody Tells You | 7 Years on Saxenda Part 2 | Reinventing Rumbley

I kept 60-70 pounds off for nearly seven years. Here's everything I wish I had known before I started. ๐Ÿ‘‡

In Part 2 of this honest, no-holds-barred GLP-1 conversation, Christina picks up right where she left off โ€” this time going deep on the real pros and cons of the three main types of GLP-1s, doing a live show and tell with her actual Saxenda pen, and sharing the final takeaways from seven years of daily injections that changed her life.

If you haven't watched Part 1 yet, pause and go watch that first โ€” this episode builds directly on it.

    In this episode Christina covers:

The three GLP-1s broken down simply: Liraglutide (Saxenda/Victoza), Semaglutide (Ozempic/Wegovy) and Tirzepatide (Mounjaro/Zepbound) โ€” and why they are NOT all the same

A live show and tell with her actual Saxenda pen โ€” the needle size, how she does it, where she injects, and what it actually feels like

The full pros list: significant weight loss, reduced food obsession, better blood sugar, less emotional eating, reduced inflammation, improved confidence and why she wouldn't have started this podcast at 203 pounds

The real cons: gastro issues, muscle loss, bone density reduction, emotional flattening, dopamine suppression, libido changes and the foods you absolutely cannot eat on this medication

The weight regain reality: 50-70% of people regain the weight within a year of stopping โ€” and why Christina hasn't gone off it

Up to 25-30% of weight lost on GLP-1s can come from muscle โ€” and why that scared her into finally talking about strength training

The stomach paralysis side effect nobody warns you about โ€” and why you MUST get off your GLP-1 before any surgery

Why she pays $25 with insurance now versus $1,500 a month without it โ€” and the Canada workaround that kept her on it

Why she would never recommend ordering these online without a doctor

Her final honest takeaway: GLP-1 didn't save her. She wasn't lost. She just needed help โ€” and it gave her a fighting chance to finally work WITH her body instead of against it

This is not a sponsored episode. This is not medical advice. This is seven years of lived experience, hard lessons, and the conversation Christina wishes she had before she started. ๐Ÿค

  • My Story with GLP-1's | Part 1

๐Ÿ’‰ I've Been on a GLP-1 for 7 Years & Nobody Talks About This Part | Saxenda, PCOS & My Honest Story | Reinventing Rumbley

I weighed 203 pounds. I had a root meniscus tear from weight bearing alone. I was hiding in every family photo. And I had tried absolutely everything. ๐Ÿ‘‡

This is the episode Christina has never fully told before โ€” and she's going there completely.

Seven years ago, before Ozempic was a household name, before the GLP-1 conversation exploded, Christina's doctor put her on Saxenda โ€” a liraglutide GLP-1 injection. She had PCOS and insulin resistance, couldn't lose weight no matter what she tried, and was gaining five to seven pounds every year regardless of trainers, calorie counting, or diets.

Today she's lost 60-75 pounds and is sitting at a size eight. And she has a LOT to say about the journey.

In this episode Christina breaks down:

Her full personal story of weight gain, PCOS, and insulin resistance โ€” and why diet and exercise alone couldn't fix it

The three main types of GLP-1s: Liraglutide (Saxenda/Victoza), Semaglutide (Ozempic/Wegovy), and Tirzepatide (Mounjaro/Zepbound) โ€” and the real differences between them

What food noise actually is โ€” and why she didn't even know she had it until it shut off

The side effects nobody fully prepares you for: gastro issues, nausea, dopamine suppression, lowered libido, and why alcohol suddenly does nothing for her

The thing her doctor didn't warn her about that she wishes she'd known from day one: massive muscle and bone loss

Why she now has osteopenia in one hip โ€” and what she believes is the connection to seven years on a GLP-1

What she'd do differently if she started over today

The emotional side of losing 60+ pounds โ€” the body dysmorphia, the hiding in pictures, the moments of confidence and the moments of cruelty toward herself

Why she's still not working out as much as she should โ€” and why she's finally getting honest about that

The difference between being at your goal weight and actually feeling good in your body

Why she's staying on maintenance at 0.6mg instead of going off it โ€” and what happens when people stop cold turkey

Her take on celebrities and GLP-1s โ€” without naming names but saying everything that needs to be said

This is not a sponsored episode. This is not medical advice. This is one woman's raw, real, seven-year journey with a medication that changed her life โ€” and an honest conversation about everything that comes with it. The good, the bad, the meh, and the muscle loss. ๐Ÿ’Š

  • Empty Nesting 2.0 | Part 2-- She graduated, now what?

85% of Autistic Grads Are Unemployed... But Here's the Hopeful Twist ๐Ÿฆ | Reinventing Rumbley Part 2

The job market for 2026 grads is at COVID-era unemployment levels. AI is the disruptor nobody wanted. And my daughter calls it "made by the devil." ๐Ÿ‘‡

In Part 2 of this deeply honest conversation, Christina goes even further into what it's actually like raising a neurodivergent young adult stepping into one of the most brutal job markets in recent history โ€” and the surprising, genuinely hopeful data that's giving her hope.

This episode does NOT sugarcoat anything. Christina lays out the real numbers, the real fears, and the real conversations happening in her house right now as her daughter Avery โ€” a SCAD animation graduate on the autism spectrum โ€” faces a three-month countdown to either landing a job or moving back home.

    Christina breaks down:

The brutal truth about the 2026 grad job market: 5.6% unemployment, higher than the national average

Why AI is the disruptor every recent grad โ€” especially creatives โ€” is terrified of, and why her daughter calls it "the devil"

The statistic that's actually hopeful: neurodivergent employees at JP Morgan are 140% more productive with a 90% retention rate

Why 60% of animation studios are now using AI โ€” and why human artistic judgment is becoming MORE valuable, not less

The real reason boomerang kids are at an all-time high (1 in 3, up from 1 in 10 in the 1980s)

Why 50% of autistic adults live with their parents โ€” and why Christina is determined that her daughter won't, even though she'd welcome her home

The black-and-white thinking of a neurodivergent brain and why "no box" feels terrifying when there's no structure left

Why she believes Elon Musk, Steve Jobs, and history's biggest innovators were likely neurodivergent โ€” and what that means for the future of hiring

A direct message to recruiters, HR leaders, and animation studios: neurodivergent hires might be the best hires you'll ever make

The emotional, gut-wrenching reality of parenting through fear and excitement at the exact same time

This episode is part data, part love letter, part rallying cry for parents of neurodivergent kids navigating life after college โ€” and for the employers who don't yet realize what they're missing. ๐Ÿฆ

  • Empty Nesting 2.0 | Part 1 -- When they graduate from College, what's next?

My Daughter Graduated College... and I'm Terrified For Her Future (Autism, Empty Nesting & Reinvention) | Reinventing Rumbley

She graduated with a 3.9 GPA. Her capstone film got a standing ovation. And I still don't know if she's going to be okay. ๐Ÿ‘‡

This episode is the most vulnerable thing Christina has shared on this show. Her daughter Avery just graduated from SCAD โ€” and watching her walk this stage has cracked open every emotion Christina didn't know she was holding.

Avery is on the autism spectrum. Brilliant. Scholastically stellar. A perfectionist who poured a year and a half of her life into a capstone animated film so extraordinary it earned a standing ovation from an international audience of students and parents โ€” and made her professor risk his own job just to let her exceed the assignment's limits.

And yet, two days before graduation, all Avery could say was: "I'm not going to get a job."

In this raw, honest episode, Christina opens up about:

What it's really like watching your neurodivergent child succeed publicly while privately spiraling with anxiety about what comes next

The statistic that haunts her: 85% of autistic college graduates are unemployed

Why Avery can mask perfectly in the world but can't mask with her own parents

The heartbreak of wanting your child to celebrate a huge win โ€” and watching them not be able to

Navigating empty nesting for the second time while going through perimenopause and her own reinvention simultaneously

The fear of her daughter traveling internationally to an animation festival in Europe with no downtime and a maxed-out social battery

What it means to protect your child without helicoptering โ€” and how impossibly hard that line is to find

The beautiful, devastating symbolism in Avery's award-worthy student film about two sisters, an inner flame, and growing up

This is reinvention from every angle โ€” Avery stepping into her future, and Christina learning to mother a young adult whose brain works differently than her own. If you've ever parented a neurodivergent child, or are watching your kid launch into a world that terrifies you both, this episode will hit you right in the chest. ๐Ÿค

Part 2 of this conversation is coming โ€” this story isn't over.

How Many Jobs Does It Take To Land Your Dream Career? ๐ŸŽฏ

Glamour Shots. Hooters. Singing telegrams. Easter bunny costumes. And somehow... a record deal. ๐Ÿ‘‡In this episode of Reinventing Rumbley, Christina gets hilariously real about the winding, wild, completely unpredictable path it takes to find your dream career โ€” and why most of us are asking the wrong question entirely. From selling pencil tattoos at eight years old to bartending at Calico Jack's in a cowgirl holster to handing Babyface her demo reel across a restaurant table โ€” Christina has held more jobs than most people can count. And every single one of them led her exactly where she needed to go.In this episode Christina breaks down:

Why the average person holds 13 jobs between the ages of 18 and 58 โ€” and why that's actually a good thing.

How over 40% of those jobs happen before you're even 25.

Why every job โ€” even the ones that broke your heart or made you gag โ€” was a stepping stone you needed.

The real question to ask yourself instead of "what's my dream job?".

Why Gen X might actually have the advantage over younger generations when it comes to AI and the changing world of work.

What Christina learned from serving Christian Slater coffee and handing Babyface a demo CD

Why your job doesn't have to feed your soul to feed your future.

What it means to find "your flavor" โ€” and why Christina is a vanilla chocolate Hรคagen-Dazs in a world full of pistachio.

Plus โ€” the honest, vulnerable moment when Christina admits that starting this podcast pulled her out of one of the darkest periods of her life. And why reinvention, even when it's your thousandth time, can still feel terrifyingly unfamiliar. This one is for every person who's ever felt lost, behind, or like they missed the memo on what they're supposed to be doing with their life.

  • Not So Deep Thoughts: I Should Have Been a Detective

We all have one. That secret career that lives rent-free in your head. The one where you think โ€” God, I would have been SO good at that.

๐Ÿ‘‡For Christina Rumbley? She wanted to be Jodie Foster. Not the actress. The character. Clarice Starling. Forensic psychologist. Criminal profiler. The one who sits across from killers and figures out exactly what makes them tick. There was just one tiny problem. The smells. The blood. The barf. The... everything. ๐Ÿคข Christina has a gag reflex so legendary that when her daughter was a baby and something exploded in the diaper โ€” she had to leave the room, vomit, compose herself, and come back. Her husband was catching barf with his bare hands while Christina ran in the opposite direction at full speed.Safe to say forensic psychology was never going to work out.But that hasn't stopped her from Googling the cost of a master's degree in criminology at 52. You know. Just to see.In this episode of Not So Deep Thoughts, Christina gets into:

*The secret detective that lives inside her and refuses to be quiet

*Why her dad being a Vietnam vet, former Chief of Police and her brother being a retired, Green Beret Major probably has something to do with all of this

*The three separate times she pulled over on the highway to "save" people who did not need saving

*Performing chest compressions on a perfectly breathing woman in an LA parking lot

*Why she'd write a thriller novel if she could โ€” and why writing like she speaks might be a problem

What YOUR secret career says about who you really are?

Why it's never too late to explore the version of yourself you never gave a chance!

This one is funny, real, and will have you thinking about the dream you quietly shelved โ€” and whether it's time to dust it off. ๐ŸŽ™๏ธ๐Ÿ“ฉ Email Christina: [email protected]

  • Kalle Simpson: Discover Night Brand Owner - Part 2

In Part 2 of this incredible two-part conversation, Christina sits back down with Kalle Simpson, founder of Discover Night, and they go places most entrepreneur interviews never do. From the psychology of self-funded founders to the moment Kalle realized her company was becoming as unhealthy as she was โ€” this is the conversation every woman in business needs to hear.Kalle gets brutally honest about:

Why she walked away from VC money even when it was on the table โ€” and why profitability always made more sense to her than burning cash for top-line growth.

The moment she realized she was selling self-care products while completely neglecting her own self-care.

Why "you can't have a healthy company from an unhealthy person" โ€” and how she watched it play out in real time.

How her company went from a cult-following silk pillow to a 35-product nighttime beauty empire in Costco, Sam's Club, and now โ€” military contracts.

Why she stopped asking permission to go to the gym and started treating her own health as a business strategy.

The hard truth about paying for outside business advice โ€” and why trusting your gut might be worth more than any consultant.

What going digital-first has unlocked for Discover Night after years of brick-and-mortar retail

Her advice to any entrepreneur stepping into the arena scared and excited โ€” and why she wouldn't change a single hard lesson.

Plus โ€” the story of the customer whose house was on fire and grabbed her Discover Night pillow before anything else. ๐Ÿ˜‚

๐Ÿ”ฅAnd Christina gets personal too โ€” about gaining 45 pounds while owning spas, her daughter thinking the spa was mommy's home at two years old, and what it really costs you when you put yourself last for 20 years. This one is raw, real, funny, and deeply human. • Kalle Simpson: Discover Night Brand Owner - Part 1

This week Christina sits down with entrepreneur, founder, and fellow reinventionist, Kalle Simpson โ€” the powerhouse behind Discover Night, a 10-year self-funded beauty and wellness brand that went from a single silk pillow to a full 360 nighttime beauty company with 35 product lines.

And her story? It's one of the most raw, real, and relatable founder conversations we've ever had on this show.

Kalle built something extraordinary. Seven years of hockey stick growth. Self-funded. No VC money. No safety net. Just pure grit, vision, and an insane level of dedication.

    And then 2022 hit.

A stolen truck. Millions in uninsured inventory. The loss of her biggest customer โ€” which represented 75% of her business. All at once.

"I went from that huge peak to doing everything I possibly could."

In Part 1 of this two-part conversation, Christina and Kalle dig deep into:

How Discover Night went from one silk pillow to a 35-product beauty empire โ€” all self-funded

What it really takes to build a product company from scratch when nobody's backing you

The difference between VC-funded startups and self-funded founders when the bottom falls out

Why business partnership requires alignment in lifestyle, sacrifice, and season of life โ€” not just vision

The identity crisis that hits when a founder who has never NOT grown revenue suddenly faces contraction.

How Kalle faked five different customer service email personas to look like a bigger company

Why she spent a fortune on outside business advice โ€” and what she learned the hard way

The muscle she never knew she had until she was forced to build it

Why the hardest years may have actually saved her company

Plus โ€” Christina gets real about her own parallel experiences running and selling her companies, the emotional toll business stress takes on your body, and why sometimes blind faith is the only thing keeping you going at 3am.

  • Not So Deep Thoughts: Adult Friendship Anxiety

Can we talk about something nobody warned us about? Making friends after 50 is giving full-on first date energy โ€” and Christina Rumbley hasn't dated in 28 years. In this episode of Not So Deep Thoughts, Christina gets hilariously honest about the very real anxiety that comes with trying to make new friends at this stage of life. The outfit changes. The perfume debate. The pit sweats. The boob sweats. The full mental dissertation about whether you're splitting the bill or sharing dishes before you even walk out the door.Sound familiar? Yeah. You're not alone.Christina breaks down:

Why friendship after 50 feels exactly like navigating a dating app โ€” without ever having used one

The very real difference between how men and women approach new friendships (spoiler: men just... show up with their bowling ball)

Why women over 50 judge themselves so harshly before meeting someone new

The unwritten rules nobody gave us โ€” and why we desperately need an SOP for adult friendship

What happens when the conversation lulls and you're sitting there wondering if you've already said too much.

Why overthinking might actually be the thing standing between us and the friendships we're craving

Plus โ€” Tank makes a cameo because of course he does.

๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ˜‚This one is short, real, and hits exactly where it hurts โ€” in the best possible way.
