Most people think feeling doubt, fear or discomfort is a reason to stop. Sometimes it may be. We have to know the difference between fear due to danger and fear due to not wanting to be uncomfortable. But growth doesn't happen when we are comfortable, it happens when we feel the fear and doubt and uncertainty but do it anyway because we know the situation will result in our growth.

Our thoughts might just be more powerful than gasoline! What we think can take us farther than any fuel. And yet we aren't encouraged to pay attention to what we are thinking and how to use our thinking to create what we want in our lives.

Shame just might be the most uncomfortable emotion to feel because it comes from thinking that who we are is bad or wrong. And shame loves to hide in silence and secrecy which makes it feel even further isolating.

Boundaries tend to be one of the most challenging things in vet med and among other animal workers but maybe they don't have to be. When we are honest with ourselves, we can be honest with others about what's ok with us and what isn't.
