Rekindling The Pages

Welcome to the very first episode of our new monthly series, Throwback Bookshelf — where we dust off the books that defined our teenage years and revisit them with our fully-formed adult brains, higher standards, and just a little bit of chaos.

This month, we’re diving fang-first into Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead, this series that had us shipping forbidden romances, dreaming about dhampir training, and spiraling over Strigoi drama back in the early 2000s. We’re talking nostalgia, teen obsession, and whether this book actually holds up—or if it was simply a fever dream powered by glitter eyeliner and bad decisions.

It's the end of the storm! We wrap up our coverage of Onyx Storm by Rebecca Yarros, and we dive headfirst into the chaos, heartbreak, and shadow-fueled mayhem of chapters 61 to 66. From wyvern battles at Medaro Pass and the emotional gut punch that is Quinn’s final stand, to Imogen’s raw grief, Violet’s impossible choice, and Xaden going full Shadow Daddy, this finale has everything—rage, sacrifice, and just enough hope to leave us destroyed but grateful.

🚨 Chapter 56–60 of Onyx Storm by Rebecca Yarros is a nonstop emotional rollercoaster with dream-stabbing wakeups, surprise deadlines, and oh yeah—Mira’s throat getting SLICED. We’re talking dreamscapes, dragon-scale clues, villain monologues, battlefield chaos, last-minute saves, and Violet unlocking her inner tactical gremlin. Buckle up, because this episode is wrath-fueled, dagger-flinging, and absolutely unhinged. 💀⚡🐉

Chapters 51–55 of Onyx Storm by Rebecca Yarros bring chaos, heartbreak, and… a steamy foot bath?? Violet’s zapping wyvern from the sky, dodging priestesses, and making rune magic sad-girl-style—because oh yeah, Andarna peaces out with her shiny irid fam. Tairn gets skewered, Xaden catches boulders like it’s cardio, and Theophanie crashes the party with death and divine ultimatums. Grief hits hard, but Mira hits harder, dragging Violet out of bed and into battle-ready mode. And just when we thought Xaden was the sunshine to Violet’s storm… a prophecy plot twist has us spiraling. Again. Grab your sparring gear and your tissues—this one hurts.

Violet’s sore, Xaden’s spiraling, Sawyer’s mud-diving at 4 a.m., and the chair? Did not consent. From political chaos to dream-walking drama, chapters 46–50 of Onyx Storm by Rebecca Yarros bring spice, shadows, and signet surprises. Someone please send snacks. 🐉💔🛁

Violet crashes a dragon family reunion, gets roasted by ancient Irids, and learns she’s unknowingly failing a cosmic exam. Meanwhile, Xaden’s soul is cracking, Andarna’s heart is breaking, and Ridoc is just trying to hold everyone together. From jungle confessions to sky-diving maneuvers and spooky seamstress mail, Chapters 41–45 of Onyx Storm by Rebecca Yarros bring the chaos, the heartbreak, and the dragon drama.

One minute it’s cake, the next it’s chaos. Garrick drops, Violet enters her villain era, and Xaden channels his inner TV doctor. Faris? Caught. Ridoc? Stabbed-ish. Mira? Full royal guard mode. Then it’s off to Zehyllna, where party games come with death penalties—RIP Trager. Violet levels up as a leader mid-trauma while dragons nap nearby like it’s not all on fire. Just when we think we can breathe? Surprise! Giant ancient irids crawl out of the beach and say “hey.” Totally normal.

Things get brutal, bloody, and wildly awkward this week as we dive into chapters 31 through 35 of Onyx Storm by Rebecca Yarros. From gladiator-style trials and dragon-sized ultimatums to emotionally loaded dinners and surprise mom reveals, the squad has no peace. Violet faces impossible choices, Xaden declares war on political matchmaking, and Garrick? Well… he really should’ve skipped dessert.

We’re talking temple tests, shady alliances, found family vibes, and one seriously poisoned slice of chocolate cake. Join us as we unpack the chaos, the character growth, and the emotional landmines in these pivotal chapters.

The tension is sky-high this week as we dive into chapters 26 to 30 of Onyx Storm by Rebecca Yarros! Join us as Violet and Xaden’s diplomatic dinner turns into a full-on fight scene (because of course it does), shadows snap necks, Andarna shows off her very careful panther-handling skills, and Courtlyn learns why you don’t mess with dragon riders.

But wait—there’s more! Family secrets come crashing into the mission when Aaric makes his surprise entrance (sorry Halden ), Mira keeps dropping half-truths, and the squad heads into Unnbriel where trial by combat isn’t just tradition—it’s policy. Also: jungle humidity, magical rocks, awkward sister talks, and one very tense wake-up call in the clearing.

In this episode, we dive into chapters 21 through 25 of Onyx Storm by Rebecca Yarros, where things go from tense to ahem very intimate—and then right back to politically complicated. We’ve got high-stakes flights, awkward exes, territorial shadows, secret bookshop brawls, forbidden information, and one extremely broken table. Violet and Xaden finally give in (yes, finally), but not without plenty of heartache, heat, and hallway interruptions from the squad. Oh, and King Courtlyn? He’s making power plays we absolutely do not trust.
