    WHAT WOULD JESUS UNDO?—1 INDIFFERENCE

"I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! 16 So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth." Revelation 3:15-16

    TWO CAUSES OF SPIRITUAL INDIFFERENCE

    1. SELF-SUFFICIENCY.

    2. "You say, 'I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing.' But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked." Revelation 3:17

      1. DISTRACTIONS OF THIS WORLD.

      2. But the worries of this life, the deceitfulness of wealth and the desires for other things come in and choke the word, making it unfruitful. Mark 4:19

        LIVING WITH LUKEWARM INDIFFERENCE

        1. We're more concerned with impressing people than living for God.

          1. We're obsessed with life on earth rather than eternity.

            1. We rationalize sin and live without truly fearing God.

              1. We believe in Jesus, but we rarely share our faith.

                1. We only turn to God when we need Him.
                2.     6)    We're not much different from the world.

                  REIGNITING THE SPIRITUAL FIRE

                  • EVERY DAY, DO SOMETHING THAT REQUIRES FAITH.
                  • "I correct and discipline everyone I love. So be diligent and turn from your indifference." Revelation 3:19 NLT

"You say, 'I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing.' But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked." Revelation 3:17

"Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me." Revelation 3:20

MY BIG FAT MOUTH - 3

                    LYING

The Lord detests lying lips, but he delights in those who tell the truth. Proverbs 12:22 NLT

tow` ebah (to-ay-baw'): something disgusting; an abhorrence, an abomination; something that makes one nauseous.

Since you have heard about Jesus and have learned the truth that comes from him, 22 throw off your old sinful nature and your former way of life, which is corrupted by lust and deception. 23 Instead, let the Spirit renew your thoughts and attitudes. 24 Put on your new nature, created to be like God—truly righteous and holy. 25 So stop telling lies. Let us tell our neighbors the truth, for we are all parts of the same body. Ephesians 4:21-25 NLT

"... He [the devil] was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies." John 8:44

                    THE DEVIL'S PLAN

                    1. GET YOU TO LIE.

                      1. GET YOU TO LIE TO YOURSELF.

                        1. GET YOU TO LIVE A LIE.

                        2. Whoever says, "I know him," but does not do what he commands is a liar, and the truth is not in that person. 1 John 2:4

                          • THE ROOT REASON MOST OF US LIE IS BECAUSE WE DON'T COMPLETELY TRUST GOD.

                          • GOD'S PLAN

                            • WE CONFESS TO GOD FOR FORGIVENESS AND TO PEOPLE FOR HEALING.

                            • If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9

Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed ... James 5:16
