Baby Monsters, Week 2: “The Secret That Cost Everything”

This week, we explored the tragic story of Samson—once chosen, strong, and anointed—but taken out by a series of small compromises and unchecked desires. His downfall didn’t happen all at once. It started subtly: honey from a lion’s carcass, hidden from his parents. Over time, Samson became desensitized to danger, flirting with sin and ignoring warning signs. His strength wasn’t lost in one moment with Delilah—it was worn down through a series of choices that made room for the flesh and silenced the voice of the Spirit.

Eventually, he didn’t even realize the Lord had left him. That’s the heartbreak of compromise: it blinds us before it binds us. But even in the pit, God wasn’t done. The message ends with hope: “But his hair began to grow again.” A fresh start is always possible when we turn back to God.

You may be one small act of obedience away from witnessing God's supernatural power transform your ordinary life into something extraordinary. When Jesus turned water into wine at a wedding in Cana—His very first recorded miracle—He demonstrated that nothing in our lives is too insignificant for His attention and intervention.

The wedding servants faced a seemingly pointless task: filling massive water pots when what they needed was wine. Their confusion likely mirrored what many of us feel when God's instructions don't immediately solve our problems. Yet their simple obedience to Mary's direction—"Whatever He says to you, do it"—positioned them to witness a miracle firsthand.

What speaks volumes is that Jesus chose this social predicament for His first miracle rather than something more dramatic like healing or resurrection. This reveals His deep care for what we might dismiss as "not important enough" to bring before Him. Your marriage struggles, parenting challenges, workplace frustrations, and personal doubts all matter to Him.

The pathway to experiencing God's miraculous intervention requires proximity—getting close enough to hear His voice amid life's noise. Many believers remain spiritually confused simply because they're not leaning in to listen. That still, small voice is speaking, directing you toward steps that may seem impractical but will ultimately reveal His power. Remember: you can't reach the impossible if you're not willing to do the impractical.

Are you holding that half-filled bucket, questioning why you should continue? Maybe you've been faithful in Bible reading, tithing, serving, or maintaining boundaries—yet seeing no results. Take heart and keep filling your water pots to the brim. Our responsibility is obedience; God's responsibility is the outcome. The miracle always looks foolish until it's finished.

Ready to see God work? Step closer, listen carefully, and do whatever He tells you—no matter how mundane it seems. Your miracle awaits.

Have you ever allowed a problem to become your identity? In this powerful message, we dive into the often-overlooked story of the woman with the issue of blood from Mark 5. While everyone around her defined her by her suffering, Jesus saw beyond her condition to her true identity.

The contrast is striking – Jairus enters the story with both his name and title intact, while this woman is known only by her affliction. For twelve years, she wasn't just bleeding physically; she was hemorrhaging her sense of self, her place in community, her very identity. How many of us have done the same? We transform our wounds into personas, our traumas into labels, until we forget who we truly are beneath the pain.

Through this woman's encounter with Jesus, we discover a four-part framework for experiencing breakthrough and reclaiming our God-given identity. She heard about Jesus, controlling her intake and filling her mind with hope. She moved despite her limitations, pushing through the crowd when everything said she shouldn't. She thought with faith, choosing to believe "if I can just touch his robe, I will be healed" among the thousands of other possible negative thoughts. And finally, she told her story, vulnerably sharing her whole truth when Jesus called her out.

But the most beautiful moment came when Jesus named her "daughter" – the only time in scripture he addressed anyone this way. In that moment, he didn't just heal her body; he restored her identity. He transformed her from an unnamed woman defined by her issue to a daughter with a place in God's family.

Whether you're struggling with physical healing, emotional wounds, or a lost sense of self, this message will challenge you to stop letting your issues name you. You are more than your problems. You are a child of the Most High God.

Our relationships need intentional commitments to thrive in a world where the divorce rate hovers at 50% both inside and outside the church.

• Five commitments to fail-proof your marriage: seek God, fight fair, have fun, stay pure, never give up
• Your spouse cannot fill your God-shaped hole - only God can satisfy that emptiness
• Healthy couples fight for resolution, not personal victory
• Establish ground rules for arguments: no name-calling, no raised voices, no historical references
• Schedule fun in your marriage through face-to-face time, side-by-side activities, and physical intimacy
• Create boundaries to protect your marriage: transparency with devices, accountability partners
• Difficult seasons don't mean your marriage is a mistake - refuel your love instead of giving up
• A happy marriage is a union of two good forgivers
• Love covers a multitude of sins - be the one who forgives and shows grace

If you're feeling distant from God or your spouse, return to the basics. Spend time together, share your life, and make the commitments that will strengthen your relationship for the long haul.

1️⃣ How Selfish Am I?
Selfishness harms relationships, but serving others cultivates humility. (Philippians 2:3-5)

2️⃣ Do I Set Unrealistic Expectations?
Unmet expectations create conflict, but trusting God’s provision brings peace. (James 4:1-2)

3️⃣ Am I Keeping Secrets?
Secrecy breeds shame, but vulnerability leads to freedom. (Ephesians 5:11-12)

4️⃣ How Negative Is My Speech?
Our words should uplift and encourage rather than tear down. (Ephesians 4:29)

Comparison fuels discontentment, but gratitude fosters joy. (Galatians 6:4-5)

We often focus on finding the right person, but what if the key to a thriving relationship is being the right person first? Before stepping into love, we need to step into purpose, wisdom, and identity.

Through the story of creation in Genesis and the wisdom of scripture, we’ll explore four essential truths that prepare us for next-level love:

1️⃣ Before I find my person, I need to find my purpose.
God created us for a reason—our identity isn’t defined by who we’re with but by the purpose He has designed for us (Ephesians 2:10).

2️⃣ Before I make a covenant, I need to make wise choices.
Faithfulness starts with the small things. Marriage doesn’t transform us—it magnifies who we already are (Luke 16:10).

3️⃣ Before I seek out intimacy, I need to seek out my identity.
True love starts with knowing who we are in Christ. Without a strong foundation in Him, we’ll search for wholeness in places that can never satisfy (Genesis 2:21).

4️⃣ Before I pursue a relationship, I pursue rest.
Until we find rest and fulfillment in God, no relationship can bring lasting peace (Psalm 62:5).

Let’s discover how focusing on spiritual growth, wise decision-making, and God’s design can shape us into the person He has called us to be—so that we can love others from a place of strength, not striving.
