Initially when a loved one dies, we tend to shut down emotionally to focus on the sorrow that comes from loss.
Having gone through the experience of poor health leading to the death of two husbands, as well as the deaths of her father, mother, sister, aunts, uncles, as well as many friends, Emily Thiroux Threatt has much experience in the grieving process. She has learned to face life with love, optimism, and joy.
Learning to survive in a positive manner led Emily to see how she could help others to deal with their grief, especially by writing. She discovered that the way to survive her loss was to provide comfort and support to others.
