When Ali moved to Australia he set out to completely disrupt the local stone industry. Prior to Ali's entry, Australian stone was a one size fits all solution for everything, with machine-cut granite slabs popping up everywhere. Using his artisanal background, Ali has brought back the art to stone cutting, building tables, baths and all manner of fixtures, fittings and furniture to create truly beautiful and unique products. 

We sat down with him to talk about working on some of the world's biggest hotels, why Australia has been lagging behind Europe, and his love for a certain controversial politician.
