Psalm 77 gives us an honest picture of what it feels like to be overwhelmed. The psalmist describes sleepless nights, unanswered questions, deep anxiety, and even wondering if God has forgotten to be gracious. It’s raw, emotional, and deeply relatable. But in the middle of all that fear and uncertainty, there is a turning point: “I will remember the works of the Lord.” Instead of staying trapped in discouragement, the psalmist intentionally remembers God’s faithfulness, His past provision, and the ways He has worked before. That pattern is repeated throughout Scripture because remembering strengthens faith. When life feels heavy and you don’t know what to do next, stop and remember how good God has already been. His faithfulness in the past becomes fuel for trusting Him in the present.
