In the first episode of season 2 we speak to Wild, from The wild womb witch, about "early birth" a beautiful term she uses to describe miscarriage in a way that honors the mother and baby through the journey of losing a baby while pregnant.

Wild is a mother of 6 babies and at the time of recording she had 1 earth babe, 4 sky babies and 1 baby still inside her womb. She recently gave birth to her beautiful baby boy. She is a "birth keeper" who chooses not to be registered or certified to any body so she can fully support women in their births unhindered.

In this episode we talk about the physical and emotional experience of birthing babies before term who have died. It is an important conversation as it is believed about 1 in 4 births end early. Natural birth is possible for most women and more and more women are choosing this path.

In this weeks episode Claire remembers her two daughters births. Her first labour was progressing well until she got to hospital when everything slowed down and even though she had a natural birth and the doctors and midwives thought it was a very successful birth Claire did not feel like that. When she fell pregnant again 4 years later she knew she had to do things differently. She had a deep desire to own her birth. She prepared for her birth with hypnobirthing, reading positive birth stories and planning a homebirth with a midwife. Her plans were nearly derailed by her baby being in a breech position at 36 weeks. She had a beautiful waterbirth and felt empowered by having the birth of her dreams.

In this episode Jamie remembers her 2 traumatic hospital births that led to ceasareans. She felt robbed of the births she dreamt of and those special little moments like hearing her babies cry for the first time, having skin to skin and changing those meconium nappies. For her third birth she knew she had to do things differently. The biggest change was her mindset. She realised she had to stop "people pleasing" and do things for herself.  She also had to let go of the fear of "something going wrong" and fully trust her body.  She finally got the natural birth she wanted and all the special little moments she missed out on.

In this episode Alma remembers her big family freebirth. Birth was always a natural and normal thing in Alma's family and she learnt a lot from her sisters. She made a new friend who introduced her to "freebirth" and doing some of her own research everything clicked. Alma and her husband consciously conceived their son and had a wild pregnancy and beautiful freebirth surrounded by her sisters and family in her home.
