Found this in a folder full of old files, a remix I did for a contest at some point and deleted before I got a subscription here.

Probably the hardest of these to start, but quick to finish. The recordings were so loose and live that nothing was on-grid and I just couldn't figure out what to do with it until I sped it up a little and added a breakbeat. Very heavily influenced by Sasha's "Rabbitweed" and Shpongle's "Dorset Perception" and Sasha's remix thereof. This one's so heavily processed and filtered that you might have trouble hearing the original in it. I just completely tore it apart and re-molded it into something completely new.

Maybe the last part of the Nu-Metal Remix Project, this is Incubus' "Drive" reimagined through the lens of dub music, picked apart and looped through various studio effects, until it's something different, floating to us from distances greater than radio transmitters can reliably send it.

This one started as an attempt to make it into trip-hop but just refused to come together that way. Re-reconfiguring the drums and focusing on the bass guitar took it in a better direction.

Deftones' shoegazey tendencies easily lend themselves to a smeary, washed out mix experimenting with time-stretching vocals and drowning sounds in reverb.

This started out as "what if early Filter or mid-career Ministry reworked Evanescence" but it quickly got out of hand. There were too many interesting textures and voices to play with and draw out instead of making it all harsh and gritty. It still ended up sounding like something from a night at the goth club. That has nothing to do with having recently gone to a goth club and lamenting the fact that the DJ wouldn’t play any hits.
