It is my philosophy that a good remix should be transformative in an interesting way, otherwise it's not worthwhile. Taking the source material provided by another artist and warping and shaping it to fit your vision while still maintaining some semblance of the original is much more interesting than just extending or repeating what has been done already. This is what I've done to make this one mine.

June 19, 2020 System of a Down - Spiders (RBM's Heavier Mix)
The concept of this particular remix was inspired by the Scott Burns mix of KMFDM's "A Hole in the Wall", which took a kind of doofy metal song and made it way more metal, arguably making it better.
Additionally I completely rewrote the drum part because the band's drummer turned into a weird right-wing chud and deserves to be replaced by a drum machine.

Inspired by Street Fight Radio and The P.O.D.Kast's Brian Quinby, I started a project to remix nu-metal songs. This is the first completed track in this project.
It started with me just piecing things together and trying out various drum loops over the song’s iconic bassline, and quickly settled into a weird dub track with manipulated vocals and echoey effects. One of the more popular entries in this list.
