Pete grew up in a broken home, but through various means and encounters, the Lord reached down to save Him. Today he is an active member of his local church, inspiring everyone around him to look to Christ and to make Christ known in a lost and dying world. Matt Walsh recently posted a video doing the same thing, asserting that the promotion of marriage will save the United States. Some Christians erroneously think that a salvation testimony is somehow less powerful when the person is, by worldly standards, "a good person." Perhaps they grew up in a moral or maybe even Christian home and never ventured in worldly pleasures. This kind of background, some may think, does not adequately showcase a drastic change at the point of salvation, so the effect isn't as poignant. Nothing can be further from the truth. It is every bit as much a miracle as a world-worn sinner being saved, and this week, we get to hear such a testimony. We continue the How Were Your Barriers Removed? series with Rebekah, who grew up in a Christian home but was nonetheless saved by God's miraculous grace.

The deity of Christ is a core and foundational doctrine that we absolutely have to get right in order to be genuinely saved. Yet, 52% percent of American adults and 30% of professing Christians do not believe that Jesus Christ is God. Instead they relegate Him to the realm of "a good man," "a great teacher," or "first created being." This is a significant barrier that must be addressed if anyone is to have a clear view of the cross. Here at Removing Barriers, we emphatically affirm that Jesus Christ is God in the flesh, without equivocation or qualification.
