Renegade Talk Radio

Welcome Renegade Nation it’s me Naughty Nicole and it’s time for another Renegade Review. And this go round, we’re focusing on NBC’s latest offering, Taken. The utter pointlessness of this constant mining and revamping of movies and shows has reached a new precipice of low with Taken.

When you think of Taken, the first thing that comes to mind is probably Liam Neeson. The second thing is the threat he delivers in his gravelly, papa-bear-mode speech explaining to his daughter’s kidnapper over the phone that he has a particular set of skills and he’s not afraid to use them. Taken, manages to simultaneously deliver nothing reminiscent of the Liam Neeson movie franchise, while also being a completely different show after the premiere episode. It's that rare double middle finger that certainly doesn't benefit this average and mostly forgettable show that Taken becomes.

So let’s face it: The most interesting thing about Taken is Liam Neeson as an action hero. Which means the most interesting thing about NBC’s Taken, the series, is the fact that it doesn’t have Liam Neeson. Nor does it have any of the charisma or magnetism he brought to the story. That’s not completely the fault of Clive Standen (Vikings), who’s saddled with having to fill movie-star-sized shoes as the younger Bryan Mills, but it is the fault of a series that has no idea what it wants to do beyond using its recognizable, franchised name.

So let’s get this out of the way up front: Taken is not a very good movie as movies go. I mean, it’s a brutally efficient delivery mechanism for Neeson to growl and kill an astounding number of foreign nationals in only 90 minutes, and it’s exciting. The sequels became increasingly less efficient, more sadistic and more xenophobic. The appeal of the franchise can be boiled down to Neeson's rugged exceptionalism, a few European postcard locations and the satisfying crack that comes from breaking the bones of a man who keeps kidnapping members of your family.

Weekend Report: In 2014 the Desert Tortoise caused a 41-day standoff in Nevada, is it possible that a Bone Cave Harverst Spider could cause the same stir in Texas? Also, the democrat plan to stall cabinets picks may be a long term play that indicates they do not plan on nominating an anti-establishment candidate in 2020. And, a new poll indicates that voters are thirsty for political information, but they aren't turning to mainstream media for it. Listen to The Ryno Report LIVE, Monday-Friday on Renegade Talk Radio

Hi Renegade Nation.  This  is March 2, 2017 and this show is all about the Bundy trials currently proceeding in not only Portland, Oregon but Las Vegas, Nevada concerning the original Bunkerville Standoff at Cliven Bundy’s ranch in 2014 against the BLM by the Bundy family and their supporters and the Oregon Malheur National Fish & Wildlife occupation last year.  While the mainstream media is only minimally covering these trials – big surprise – these are very important cases because they are not about the Bundy’s and the Hammonds specifically – they are about all of us.  I’m covering important information of what is really behind these incidents – especially on the prosecution’s side.  Not just the BLM and other related agencies and their law enforcement agents, but the corporations (Uranium One, Calico Resources and Barrick Gold, Inc. and other mining interests) and the very big and oh-so-familiar names behind the scenes (former Senator Harry Reid and friends, George Soros, The Clinton Foundation, the hedge funds for the Oregon Legislative Investment Council and so on) who are being protected from subpoena by tactics that are hiding corporate profiteering and racketeering – including the interrogations of defendant Blaine Cooper during his incarceration that have coerced him to plead guilty and testify against his co-defendants in court.  This is a very familiar story, unfortunately, but in this show I speak into how and why this is happening to people everywhere – and most importantly – I talk about the solutions that everyone should be educating themselves on, to protect our own self-interests from this criminal system – the “Corporatocracy” masquerading around as government, that has been designed to control and bleed us all dry.
Thank you for listening, Renegade Nation!  I hope you find this information as valuable to you as it has been for me.
