Who would’ve thought that we’d have to live through a pandemic? Sounds like the movies, right? Of course, film and TV have been anticipating this for years. “Post-apocalyptic,” as the genre’s called. But there’s a problem with the world’s view of the post-apocalyptic world...it’s entirely hopeless! The Scriptures teach us about a new world that is filled with the life of God — a restored, new creation teeming with resurrected people (not zombies!) who live in perfect harmony. Death has been done away with, and these Jesus-people will be impervious to sickness and disease. This weekend, we join with King David in Psalm 131 — the forerunner of King Jesus the Messiah — by exclaiming, "Hope in the Lord, from this time forth and forevermore!”
