This weekend, we continue our current series, This Is Us, and why we are a church devoted to being shaped by God's word. God's word is God's breath. It's his life. It's his heart. Even more, God is his word – Jesus Christ. We want to think like God, feel like God, act like God, react like a God, and know the life of God. And we want to bring the life of God to our community, our city, our world.

As maturing disciples, living under the good rule of God, you can count on the power of God flowing from and to your life. Just as the power of God was with Christ to accomplish the purposes for which he was sent into the world even so the power of God is with you to accomplish the purposes for which you have been sent into the world. Grace, the present and loving activity of God in your life, is not confined to religious things. Grace is for life. It is for singleness, it is for marriage, it is for dying, for grief, it is for project management, for working on the assembly line, for homemaking, it is for writing research papers; it is for learning to be an adolescent. Grace transforms how we do all the things mentioned and it transforms our awareness of the presence we anticipate being with us in those situations. Transforming Grace.

Join us every Wednesday for MIDWEEK — a time of fellowship, coffee and studying God’s Word together — from 7-8pm at 4684 Poplar Ave along with our student and children’s ministries. Nursery and preschool ministries will also be available for ages 6wks up to pre-K.

God’s word. It is the life of every believer. It is our sustenance, our nourishment. Giving ourselves to God's word is to pursue wholeness, renewal, joy, and strength. Giving ourselves to God’s word is one and the same as giving ourselves to God’s purposes, the purposes he has for each of us individually and how each of us, individually, play a part in his plan for the whole earth. Living in the heart of biblical truth is to put our stake in the ground as God’s people who fully trust him, delight in him, search his inscrutable ways, and find our identity in him. Join us as we talk a little more about what we value the most at our church and why. This Is Us.

Hundreds of years before Christ, the prophet Micah reminded the Jews what was at the center of God's heart: "And what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?" (Micah 6:8)

We believe that God still requires this of his servants today.

Justice. Kindness. Humility.

This is the church we aim to be, especially as we interact with issues of injustice in our world today. How can we, God's people, resist injustice from a posture of kindness and humility?
