Renewal Church

“…if you consider Jesus’s call to discipleship to be optional, reserved for the…supercommitted, then you won’t be bothered by the gap…sadly, many Christians have lived with this gap for so long that they no longer mind it.” — Rankin Wilbourne

When thinking about difficult times in the world, the Psalmist declared, "The Lord reigns, let the earth rejoice!" Tough times often make us feel an array of emotions: fear, panic, anger, despair. But we who follow Jesus have an eternal hope – Our God Reigns Forever! This doesn't mean we withdraw. Rather, it means we can engage this world, but with joy rather than fear!

"Your life is a quest to discover, and more and more live into, the person God originally made you to be; for the inage of God to be restored in you; for Christ to take form in the contours of your life. That is your horizon. It is a beautiful thought." – Rankin Wilbourne, Union With Christ

What does family ministry look like at Renewal Church? What is the priority of our family ministry? You might be surprised by the answer.

This weekend is Vision Sunday at Renewal Church. Our chief ambition is that we would fully realize Jesus' profound love for us and, in turn, that we would pour out that love onto one another. Our aim is that the wonderful, imperfect people who make up our fellowship would love the truth, walk in the truth, and experience the joy of a life shaped by the gospel.

Many of us have quoted Paul’s famous words, “I can do all things through him who strengthens me.” But we often overlook his next sentence: “Yet it was kind of you to share my trouble” (Philippians 4:13-14). Friends, many of us know that we can’t do this life without Jesus. But how many of us have the conviction - as strong as the Apostle Paul does here - that we must be rooted in loving, encouraging relationships with other people who also love Jesus?
