Religion says that we must work to earn God's love. Grace says Jesus has already done it for us. We'll be talking through this Sunday as we continue our series ‪#‎TheGift‬

There are a lot of preachers out there who want you to believe you have to do certain things in order to be blessed. The truth is that every blessing God has for you – both present and future – is already yours in Christ. Followers of Jesus don't have to earn God's blessings. We don't have to perform for God. We don't owe God something in order to be blessed. We simply are blessed in Christ. For the next four weeks, we'll be teasing this out – our immense blessedness as a result of God's gift to us: Jesus.

Acknowledging our brokenness leads to intimacy with God. Confessing our brokenness leads to intimacy with others. But what if there is more to our brokenness than simply how it impacts us? Many of us can look back at a painful story in our past when we stopped being brave. "I'll never hope again." "I'll never look stupid again." "I'll never get hurt again."

But digging in our heels like this takes away the very life we're trying to protect. We hope you join us this Sunday as we go a little deeper in bravely taking hold of the life Jesus has for us.
