This week, we begin our new series titled, "The Heart of God, The Heartbeat of Our Church", where we look at the ways that the heart beat of our church community can be shaped after the heart of God.

When Jesus was questioned by the religious elites why He kept company with the tax collectors and sinners, He responded with the parables of the lost sheep and the lost coin. These parables reveal a deeper spiritual truth. To Jesus, the people the religious elites saw as bad were actually lost in His eyes. Jesus loved the lost, saw them as in need of being found, and celebrated with great joy when they are found. His love for the lost also reassures us all of how valuable we all are in His eyes.
