We need confidence to engage the world around us and to point people to Christ. But it’s not just evangelism that we need help with. The ordinary things in the day-to-today of motherhood often require immense bravery as well. Act’s account of Stephen points us to our source of bravery and reminds us to look to Christ.

Even in the season of raising kids where there are so many demands on our finances and our time, God calls us to trust him and hold loosely to what he has given us. Resting in the security of God’s fatherly care, we can be freed from anxiously holding on to what we have and enter into a life of generosity.

We are called to be vessels of God’s healing power as we join him in his work to mend the brokenness around us. This can be as simple as lovingly bandaging the scraped knee of a toddler or offering emotional support to a friend who has just suffered a miscarriage. Acts reminds us that any instance of God’s healing at work is nothing short of a miracle. 

Wondering how to share the Gospel with your kids or those you do daily life with? To be a witness for Christ, we don’t have to have a shocking testimony story or be professional apologists. We simply authentically share what God has done in our life.

The responsibilities of motherhood leave many of us feeling like we’re sidelined from God’s work for a season. The book of Acts, however, reminds us that we are commissioned to be witnesses for Christ wherever he has us. Both on world-wide missionary journeys and within a single home, God is at work to reach and save the people he loves.

As moms, we can be hard on ourselves. Psalm 103 shows us how to stop the cycle of shame by fixing our attention and worship on God. 

Psalm 65 comforts our hearts with the truth that God hears everything we bring to him, and he answers us with his compassionate presence. 

Psalm 90 counsels us to accept our limits so that we might look to Jesus and his power! In dependence upon Christ, our lives grow full with meaning and growth.
