The responsibilities of motherhood leave many of us feeling like we’re sidelined from God’s work for a season. The book of Acts, however, reminds us that we are commissioned to be witnesses for Christ wherever he has us. Both on world-wide missionary journeys and within a single home, God is at work to reach and save the people he loves.

Psalm 46 doesn’t assure our anxiety that everything will turn out as we hope. But it does assure us that God will be with us, and his glory will be shown!

As moms, we can be hard on ourselves. Psalm 103 shows us how to stop the cycle of shame by fixing our attention and worship on God. 

Psalm 65 comforts our hearts with the truth that God hears everything we bring to him, and he answers us with his compassionate presence. 

Psalm 90 counsels us to accept our limits so that we might look to Jesus and his power! In dependence upon Christ, our lives grow full with meaning and growth.

Psalm 34 leads us to stop, even in the midst of ongoing uncertainty and challenges, to see daily grace. It shows us how to find peace by praising God for today’s mercies, despite what tomorrow might bring.

Psalm 91 encourages us to face our battles from within the security of God’s arms. It is God’s love and protection that enables us to walk in his victory. 

We need constant reminding of who God is to us. Psalm 16 guides us in preaching God’s character and power to our hearts so that we might find solid ground to stand on. 

As a parent delights in the love of their child, so God our Father delights in our adoration. Psalm 19 leads us to worship God in beholding the beauty of his creation and his Word.

Can we as moms get a break from the overwhelming and nonstop sense of responsibility we take on? Psalm 92 leads our weary hearts to find abiding, Sabbath rest.
