  • The Devil Wears Prada
Or two dudes talk about what just appears to be a chick flick. Kraig & Seamus break down why the Devil Wears Prada is a standout, intelligent dramedy of personal empowerment, making sacrifices, and going after what you want in life. We discuss the powerhouse quadruple leads Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt & Stanley Tucci, as well as the work of director David Frankael. Also, we discuss how this very film is being run on HBO in the WRONG ASPECT RATIO. #HBOjerks

  • Death Wish (74), Leon: The Professional, John Wick - Sweet Revenge Cinema
We kick off a dive into movie themes discussing the age old genre of revenge, featuring the original Death Wish, Leon: The Professional, and John Wick. These are just the first 3 revenge films we will discuss, but we feel they are exemplary of the genre in very specific, unique and game changing ways. We share a lively chat about their connections, memorable elements, and their deepest themes, all while tying them to the greater genre of revenge cinema as a whole.

  • White Men Can't Jump - Sports Comedy Masterpiece
Spoiler: Seamus & Kraig can't hide their love the high level execution of Ron Shelton's superb basketball buddy dramedy.
We discuss the surprisingly well choreographed, high energy gameplay, trash talking, and top notch chemistry between every member of the cast. Also, we talk about the truly well developed characters, the beautifully mature handling of romance, as well as the powerful underlying themes or realistic (& hilarious) race relations, social struggles, and precarious life choices.

  • Star Wars: The Last Jedi - success or failure?
Kraig & Seamus dissect the seemingly much hated, most recent Star Wars film, the Last Jedi. We get into the intentions of Rian Johnson, what this film needed to be after The Force Awakens, and we look hard at the two films in comparison. This film lends itself perfectly to examining story in film, what sequels should be, two very different directors, and two divergent views of what Star Wars is-- those of J.J. Abrams and Rian Johnson. This is one of our best film talks yet!

We emphasize his softer side, comedic roles, and chat about a few favorites such as Se7en and the Frighteners. Also, we discuss another Hollywood Legacy, that somehow I'd missed before now.

  • Ready Player One 1st Take - Is Spielberg back?
We tackle Steven Spielberg's virtually epic new film, complete with (mostly spoiler free) book to screen comparisons. After a couple weeks of mixed headlines and a bravura box office take, we decided to look at Ready Player One, as filmmakers, artists, and fans of the book by Ernest Cline. Everything from the way the IP is handled, to the deft script by Zak Penn and Cline, to the terrific performances by the incredible cast, and dig deep into the strong social commentary and Spielberg as a filmmaker.
