Scripture say, "The [reverent] fear of the Lord [that leads to obedience and worship] is a fountain of life, so that one may avoid the snares of death" (Proverbs 14:27). Amen! How true is that!

Where there's no fear of the Lord, there will be no turning from sin! In such case, you ignorantly do not understand the magnitude of the situation: "For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up," (Malachi 4:1). Woefully, if you sin ANYWAY, you are deceived to think that the love of the Father is in you! For every one born again of the Spirit, does not, and cannot, go on sinning! (Study 1 John 3:8-9).

So why am I talking about this? I'm talking about this because when you truly fear the Lord, you will obey and keep His commandments. Out of reverent love and respect for who He is, and what He has done for us, we comply with His directions, commands, instructions, and, if need be, rebuke! You know how you know, you really love God? Is when you HATE sin as much as He does, AND TURN FROM IT!

1 John 2:5 sums up today's lesson perfectly: "But whoever habitually keeps His word and obeys His precepts [and treasures His message in its entirety], in him the love of God has truly been perfected [it is completed and has reached maturity]." Amen! Live clean. Be holy! Obey God! 🎯 REPENT and BELIEVE and TURN back to God!

Looking at Romans 6, in particular, Paul teaches that we have been set free from the power of sin! Therefore, like John exhorts us in 1 John 3:9: "No one who has been born of God practices sin, because His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin continually, because he has been born of God." Amen!

🎯 These biblical truths found in Romans chapter 6 must be imbedded in every psyche of the follower of the Lord Jesus Christ - WE ARE DEAD TO SIN & ALIVE TO GOD:

👉🏾6 "We know that our old self [our human nature without the Holy Spirit] was nailed to the cross with Him, in order that our body of sin might be done away with, so that we would no longer be slaves to sin. 7 For the person who has died [with Christ] has been freed from [the power of] sin."

👉🏾10 "For the death that He died, He died to sin [ending its power and paying the sinner’s debt] once and for all; and the life that He lives, He lives to [glorify] God [in unbroken fellowship with Him]. 11 Even so, consider yourselves to be dead to sin [and your relationship to it broken], but alive to God [in unbroken fellowship with Him] in Christ Jesus."

👉🏾12 "Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its lusts and passions."

👉🏾14 "For sin will no longer be a master over you, since you are not under Law [as slaves], but under [unmerited] grace [as recipients of God’s favor and mercy]."

👉🏾22 "But now since you have been set free from sin and have become [willing] slaves to God, you have your benefit, resulting in sanctification [being made holy and set apart for God’s purpose], and the outcome [of this] is eternal life."

🎯 NEVER FORGETTING:

23 "For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God [that is, His remarkable, overwhelming gift of grace to believers] is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." Amen! Enough said!! Live clean. Be holy! 🎯 REPENT and BELIEVE and TURN back to God!

Beloved listen, there is no wiggle room for compromise when it comes to the Word of God! We are commanded to be doers and not hearers only. It profits each and every one of us to do self-examination, as we look into the Word of God as a mirror, to see where we are in the faith and to make sure we will not be a castaway!

This is PART ONE of a series that I will be giving on those Scriptures that teaches us to live godly lives. Why? 👉🏾"Therefore, believers, be all the more diligent to make certain about His calling and choosing you [be sure that your behavior reflects and confirms your relationship with God]; for by doing these things [actively developing these virtues], you will never stumble [in your spiritual growth and will live a life that leads others away from sin]" (2 Peter 1:10).

You can call this series the Christian Walk. We will be going through a lot of Scriptures that will help to keep us on the straight and narrow path as well as illustrate indicator markers of the characteristics one has when they are living a clean and holy and godly life, in Christ Jesus, before God. Those who have sincerely repented and come to Christ to have their sins forgiven, we live differently from when we were in the "world." No longer do we live for self. No longer is our lifestyles characterized by sin. No longer do we operate in the flesh. We walk by faith and not by sight. We wholeheartedly strive to obey the command by our Lord and Master when He told us in John 8:11 to "Go, and sin no more." We are not of the mindset that it is "impossible to stop sinning!" We stay out of the way of sin and its damnable eternal consequences! We are called to be imitators of God. We are called to be like Christ. We are called to think on excellence. We are commanded to put on the new man. And we are to serve and love God willingly with our whole hearts, souls, minds, and strength. And we are to love our neighbor as we love ourselves! Amen! "As the deer pants [longingly] for the water brooks, so my soul pants [longingly] for You, O God. 2 My soul (my life, my inner self) thirsts for God, for the living God. When will I come and see the face of God?" Are you? Because if not, you just may be spiritually dehydrated! That's because you are not abiding in Christ Jesus as you ought to. The Lord says that He gives us a type of water where we will never be thirsty again. This is what He said to the woman at the well in John, chapter 4:10, 13-14: "10 Jesus answered her, “If you knew [about] God’s gift [of eternal life], and who it is who says, ‘Give Me a drink,’ you would have asked Him [instead], and He would have given you living water (eternal life)"..."13 Jesus answered her, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again. 14 But whoever drinks the water that I give him will never be thirsty again. But the water that I give him will become in him a spring of water [satisfying his thirst for God] welling up [continually flowing, bubbling within him] to eternal life.” Amen!

Are you drinking from THAT water? Do you have the zeal of Phineas? In Numbers 25:10-11, we read about how Phineas, the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, had turned the wrath of God away from the Israelites! He had the same jealousy as God had when the Israelites continually provoked Him to anger, because they were eating food offered to idols and bowing down to Moab's gods. So Phineas, most likely in his disgust of idolatry, killed an Israelite and his pagan wife with one thrust of a spear when they came to the Tent. And because of that killing, it made atonement for Israel's sin against God. God was well pleased with Phineas, whereby, He made a covenant of peace with him and his descendants!

So the question is begged, are you thirsty for the Lord? Do you have great zeal for God and His holiness, whereby, you won't tolerate evil on any level (like Phineas), but have great respect and awe-filled reverence for the God who saved us from 's fire? We must live clean and holy as we await the coming return of our Savior! Amen! 🎯 REPENT and BELIEVE and TURN back to God!

With that being said, we who have called on the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ to be saved, we better make sure that we are, in fact, in right standing with the Father when Jesus returns! Beloved, we only get one shot at this born-again life before we die. We must be found blameless when Christ returns! We are called to live holy, clean, and godly lives. We don't get to go back to the old way of living which was sinful, detestable, rebellious, and wicked in the sight of holy God! When we show appreciation, gratitude, and reverential awe & fear towards the Father, it fosters a lifestyle of faithful obedience... simply for the fact that we have been snatched from 's fire!

We must be grateful for our salvation and work it out with fear and trembling. And we show that gratitude by being obedient. By being peaceful. By being loyal and faithful to Lord Jesus. By being a loving people. By producing fruits of the Spirit that backs up our repentance. James told us that faith without works is dead. And so, we live "sensible, upright, and godly lives [lives with a purpose that reflect spiritual maturity] in this present age," as we "reject ungodliness and worldly (immoral) desires" (study Titus 2:11-14).

God has promised His children a wonderful gift: eternal life! And this life is found in His Son; made available to those who have put their faith and trust in His shed blood. "Therefore, since we have these [great and wonderful] promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from everything that contaminates body and spirit, completing holiness [living a consecrated life—a life set apart for God’s purpose] in the fear of God" (2 Corinthians 7:1). Amen! Live clean. Live holy. 🎯 REPENT and BELIEVE and TURN back to God!

Thereby, forfeiting our salvation that was paid for with a huge price... the shedding of Christ's blood on the cross for our sins! Oh, never let us forget how He suffered on our behalf! The Bible tells us in Isaiah 53:10-11, "Yet the Lord was willing to crush Him, causing Him to suffer; if He would give Himself as a guilt offering [an atonement for sin], He shall see His [spiritual] offspring,...11 As a result of the anguish of His soul, He shall see it and be satisfied; By His knowledge [of what He has accomplished] the Righteous One, My Servant, shall justify the many [making them righteous—upright before God, in right standing with Him], For He shall bear [the responsibility for] their sins." Amen.

As a child of God and a follower of the Lord Jesus Christ, we are all called to listen and obey God. Hebrews 12:14 says it all, "Work at living in peace with everyone, and 👉🏾work at living a holy life, for those who are not holy will not see the Lord." Lord Jesus tells us to strive to enter the narrow door. There should be no wiggle room for sin in our lives! Scripture is unanimous, those who have repented and are born-again, we are commanded to be holy and live clean and upright and godly lives before the Lord. No longer do we make excuses for sin. No longer do we defend sin. No longer do we cry afoul and say that "it is impossible to stop sinning!" Put it all away, because we will all be judged when Christ returns. He will give to every man according to his ways and the fruit of his doings. It is in our best interest to follow, listen and heed to the voice of our Great Shepherd! He knows His sheep and THEY are the ones that will not be plucked from His hand nor the Father's hand (study, John 10:26-30)! Amen! Live clean. Live holy. 🎯 REPENT and BELIEVE and TURN back to God!

Because many in the Body of Christ are still in spiritual infancy. They have become dull and sluggish in their spiritual hearing and have determined to disincline to listen to sound doctrine. But rather, reject it and/or debate it.

As we look at Hebrews 5:11-14; 6:1-7, it is teaching us and that by this time in the Lord, we ought to be teachers. Why? Because, we have had time to learn these truths in the Word of God. The elementary principles taught in His Word should already be proficient in our understanding, by this time. But, some according to this Scripture, have come to be continually in need of "milk," not "solid food." It goes on to say how everyone who lives on milk, is doctrinally inexperienced and unskilled in the word of righteousness, since he is a spiritual infant. And that solid food is for the spiritually mature, whose senses are trained by practice to distinguish between what is morally good and what is evil.

One of the problems in the Body of Christ, is that you have self-professing followers who are not obeying and heeding Jesus' teachings and instructions. These are they, who will call YOU self-righteous because you teach and preach the holiness of His Word in biblical accuracy. They are evidencing their spiritual infancy by claiming you are being "self-righteous" and that "we all sin." Again, this is more evidence that they have not moved on to spiritual milk, but are actually babes. And they are in danger of falling away, crucifying Christ all over again, because it is impossible to bring them back again to repentance. They refuse to come out of willful sin and claim Christ has forgiven them and, therefore, because of their "repentance," (which is really not true repentance) they get to stay in it. Folks, once we repent, we come out of that sin! PERIOD! We have to understand, that through the shed blood of Jesus and His sacrifice, we had been set free from the bondage of sin. We heed to His command in John 8:11, to "Go, and sin no more." And that is what we do, and then we turn around and teach this same command to others, even in the face of opposition and persecution! Amen! Live clean. Live holy.🎯 REPENT and BELIEVE and TURN back to God!

I absolutely love corrections. A precious sister in the Lord, Ellie, brought the below correction to my awareness. And I totally agree with her on what Paul was teaching in 1 Corinthians 7:15, "But if the unbelieving depart, let him depart. A brother or a sister is not under bondage in such cases: but God hath called us to peace." It wasn't until recently, by the Holy Spirit, that I now fully understand when an unbelieving spouse abandons their believing spouse. This does not give the abandoned spouse authorization to remarry. So I just want to make that correction. Both Paul and the Lord Jesus Christ confirm that only death fulfills the marital vow. Not adultery, not abandonment, not abuse, nothing, only death! Christ Jesus gave the only exception for divorce and that is fornication. In summary, here's the correction: "Therefore, the believer who is abandoned (divorced) by his or her unbelieving spouse is NOT free to remarry. They are not under bondage to try to convince the unbelieving spouse to not leave them and they are not under bondage to perform marital duties of any sort when the unbelieving spouse abandons them because God has called believers to peace. Also, Paul had just told us in 1 Corinthians 7:10-11 that a woman who is separated from her husband is to remain unmarried or to be reconciled to her husband. Paul also told the man whose wife left him to not divorce her. That abandoned husband is to uphold his marriage covenant with his wife that left him." 🚩 Stay tuned to the end of the podcast where the Word of the Lord was given forth! In a nutshell Divorce + Remarriage= ADULTERY! If the spouse of your youth is still ALIVE and you've remarried, Jesus said you commit ADULTERY! Many Christians (and sinners) are on their way to if they do not REPENT and come out of these adulterous remarriages. Beloved, WHETHER you want to HEAR this or NOT, Matthew 19:9 does not give us permission to remarry because of ADULTERY! That word "sexually immorality" translated from the Greek means "Porneia," it also means "Fornication." In context, Jesus, in His day, is clearly speaking to all of these men who were giving these women a writ of divorce so they can marry someone else. 🎯 Friends, study the Scriptures I've given you before on this topic - that has been so muddled & twisted and manipulated! People are shell-shocked to find out the TRUTH once and for all where Jesus stood on divorce and remarry. That if you are divorced (for any other reason except it be for fornication) and you've remarried while your 1st covenant partner is still alive, you commit ADULTERY each and every time you lay with your new spouse! Eternity is forever and I thank God for correction and I thank God for grace! May God continue to have mercy on us all! 💥 (Study: Matthew 19:9; Mark 10:1-2; Luke 16:18; Romans 7:1-3; 1 Corinthians, all of chapter 7) # So here's the teaching: MANY people believe that if your spouse commits adultery, you can REMARRY. It is a LIE from the pit of ! Jesus Christ has clearly taught us that divorce and remarrying another person when you have a LIVING spouse - a covenant spouse - is ADULTERY! 💥💥 The teachings of Jesus are clear : 👉🏾 Mark 10:1-12: teaches that what God has joined together through matrimony, and the one flesh union, let no man put ASUNDER. 👉🏾 Matthew 5:32 - "But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery." 👉🏾Matthew 19:9: teaches that if a man or woman divorces and marries another, you commit ADULTERY. 👉🏾 Luke 16:18: teaches that anyone who divorces their spouse and marries another person commits ADULTERY. And the person who marries a DIVORCED woman/man, commits ADULTERY. 👉🏾Romans 7:1-3: "Know ye not, brethren, (for I speak to them that know the law,) how that the law hath dominion over a man as long as he liveth? 2 For the woman which

Therefore, how well do you know Him? Do you fear Him or do you think He is just a "grandfatherly" type looking to bless His children with material wealth, health and success? Well beloved, I'm here to tell you God is faithful even when we are faithless; and He will justly deal with the wickedness of His unrepentant enemies, in righteousness, on Judgment Day.

We are going to be looking at Scriptures that speaks of His faithfulness and of His wrath, to give us the full counsel of who He is. We must never take His kindness for weakness!

The Bible tells us in Nahum 1:2, "The Lord is a jealous and avenging God [protecting and demanding what is rightfully and uniquely His];

The Lord avenges and He is full of wrath. The Lord takes vengeance on His adversaries, and He reserves wrath for His enemies."

And then we have this side of Him in Lamentations 3:22-23, "Because of the Lord's great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. 23 They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness."

We must never presume that He will overlook our sin, because He loves His children so much. Do not be deceived! He is to be highly praised and greatly feared! Amen! 🎯 REPENT and BELIEVE and TURN back to God!

In order for us to be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power, we must clothe ourselves with spiritual armor! For we know we are in a battle with the "flesh man" who is looking to drag us back to the kingdom of darkness! Study Ephesians 6:10-18 & Ephesians 5:22-23 to get understanding. We cannot, as children of the Most High God, walk about in this evil wicked vile world without some of it superficial values trying to rub off on us. That is why it is imperative that we put on the full Armor of God so that we are well equipped to deal with the enemy's devices and deceits and temptations! So then, PUT on the helmet of salvation, the breastplate of righteousness, the belt of truth, the sword of the Spirit and have your feet prepared with the gospel of peace!

🤺🤺...And stand your ground against wickedness in high places!

Not only that, in order to prove that our faith is genuine, James tells us in the second chapter that faith, "if it does not have works [to back it up], is by itself dead [inoperative and ineffective]." Study James 2:14-18. Therefore, fruits of the Spirit should be showing up in your life to back up and go along with the faith you confess. The fruit of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control should be prevalent in your life as we grow in Christ! In Him, we have peace with God and, therefore, no longer do we give into the flesh! No longer do we produce bad fruit! Therefore, live clean, live holy, and be about the Father's business serving Jesus in His harvest! Amen! 🎯 REPENT and BELIEVE and TURN back to God!
