This week we are watching Heartstopper on Netflix! This show was recommended by co-host Giulia Santin!! Big shout outs! This Series is a coming into oneself story and having the confidence to be authentic in the most admiral pursuit, love! Based off a graphic novel we follow the story of a group of friends and their experience within a society at odds. I really enjoyed the honestly and the grounded nature that the story brings. This week we have a Sci-fi thriller Upgrade ! I really enjoyed some of the physical concepts in this film which takes place in the not so distance future. The story takes you on a revenge tour tracking down the people who derailed your life with the help of an AI companion. filled with twists and turns and an intriguing plot twist, this is a must see! SUSPIRIA directed by Dario Argento is a gem of a flick! MUST MUST WATCH!!! The stage he sets with this adventure down the rabbit hole puts us at an illustrious school for international dancers. It opens as the protagonist landing in an airport passing through a monsoon type storm. Also, Argento's pairing with Technicolor who, at the time, was a cutting edge technology that set a new standard for vibrant colours shown on the big screen, pays off in spades! DEEP RED, I remember being introduced to this film when I was living on Montreal! Dario Argento's style is unlike any other director i've seen from his era. This film takes place in Italy, when during a forum a killer is invoked to kill again. During this twisted tail your taken for a surreal ride acoustically by the group Goblin who worked with Dario to create an incredibly influential soundtrack (that's been heavily sampled by many current bands) This film is a must watch. This action adventure film takes us on a wild ride to a future war / an alien invasion with a reluctant hero Tom Cruz! If you haven't seen this film by now, it's a must watch! Incredible action, incredible VFX with really solid acting by one of my favorite actresses Emily Blunt! If you don't know by now, SPOILERS ahead! We later discuss what his vision of the world/film would feel like in a triple AAA game. We'll break down the motifs and mechanics that would best support an interesting, engaging playthrough.
