    Mexico’s Elections | Sexism in Parliament | ABC journalist & Nauru | Witness K

Mexico’s monumental election of Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO), a left-wing candidate will send waves into the region. Is it a bigger win for democracy as well?

David Leyonhjelm’s told Sarah Hanson-Young to “stop shagging men” in parliament. Why won’t he apologise? Why is tolerance for abuse so much higher in parliament than in any other job/industry in Australia?

Freedom of expression is an important value we all live by yet an ABC journalist was refused entry into Nauru to cover the Pacific Island Forum due to Nauru perceiving the ABC as an “activist” type of media. Witness K on the other hand is facing criminal charges for revealing Australia’s bugging of Timor-Leste’s cabinet files during sensitive negotiations.

Why will our government not advocate more strongly for press freedom and pardon whistle blowers?

Join Oscar and Maggy as we break down the biggest issues of the week.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Shock Victory | Changes in the Supreme Court | Putin & Trump Summit | Bill Shorten's Leadership

Does Ocasio-Cortez's victory suggest America, or at least the democratic party is moving left? To what extent has Donald Trump's presidency impacted this?

On the other hand, swing voter on the Supreme Court, Anthony Kennedy has announced his resignation. How will this impact future decisions the Supreme Court will make surrounding issues like abortion?

Trump intends to meet with Putin in July, a few days after the NATO meeting. Is Trump going to once again give up more than he gets?

Finally, closer at home, we look at Bill Shorten's recent blunders, deviating from the party line in company taxes and whether there will be a challenge to his leadership before federal elections.

For head to head, we will look at some actors turned politicians and politicians turned actors in light of China's recent caps on celebrity earnings.

Join Claudia and Maggy as we break down the biggest issues of the week.

Singapore Summit | Liberal: Moderates vs Conservatives | Afghanistan

We've spent weeks talking about the Singapore summit, to what extent should Trump be praised for brining Kim Jong Un to the table? Or is it Kim's victory to sit as equals in talks with the US?

Privatising the ABC? Moving the embassy in Israel to Jerusalem? That's what some members at the Liberal Federal council wanted, but the government was quick to shut those ideas down. Is the divide between moderate and conservatism within the liberal party growing?

There have been many disappointing discoveries in the Afghanistan investigation –but are they as shocking and unexpected as some would like to believe?

And of course, we have Head to Head about how the world and Donald Trump's family is celebrating his birthday this year.

Join Zizi, Maggy, Oscar and Nikee as we talk about the biggest issues in politics this week.

G7 Meeting | Same-Sex Couple Wedding Cake | Afghanistan War Crimes

While the G7 meeting is in full force this week, we’ll be discussing whether the meeting left out an important person, Mr Vladimir Putin.

What are the implications of leaving out Russia? And what message would we be sending by inviting them back to the global economic summit?

We’ll also be discussing the not-so-sweet findings of the US Supreme Court in the famous Colorado Wedding Cake Case.

And, closer to home, we’ll be looking at national security debates including the Australian foreign interference laws and the leaked story that a NSW Supreme Court judge is currently questioning elite Australian soldiers about alleged Afghanistan war crimes.

P.s. for head to head, we look at who the best and worst Kim Jong Un & Donald Trump impersonators are!

Moving onto America, what’s the deal with Trump pulling out of the Iran deal?

How does that impact the meeting and peace talks with North Korea?

What is the significance of the US moving their embassy to Jerusalem?

The banking saga continues, what are some of the political ramifications this close to the federal budget release?

European nations are trying to remove ISIS propaganda from the media and online, how effective will this be in limiting the group's influence?

Syrian Airstrikes | China in the Pacific | Zuckerberg in Congress

USA, UK & France have conducted an airstrike in Syria in response to alleged use of chemical weapons by the Assad regime.

What is the significance of the airstrike? Will it create any meaningful impact? Will Russia be retaliating as they have threatened to do?

China’s expanding its foreign influence in Venezuela, worrying Australian officials about whether it is part of their plan to establish a permanent military base in pacific.

What has China’s historical dealings with developing nations been like? Are we being too cynical in our judgement of China or are concerns legitimate?

In the wake of the Cambridge Analytica scandal, Mark Zuckerberg has testified in congress.

No meaningful change has been promised, but why has the shares for Facebook risen? What are some other Facebook scandals in the past?

And of course, we have Head to Head focusing on unlucky numbers marking the 30th unfavourable news poll for Turnbull. On the other hand, we have the 45 embassies still to be filled with ambassadors from the US.

Many countries have acted in solidarity with the UK to expel Russian diplomats, including Australia. Will further action taken?

There have been protests and now planned investigation into Channel 7's Sunrise racist segment on indigenous adoption. Why are indigenous issues continually misrepresented and exploited in mainstream media for viewership?

The conversation about corporate taxes seems to be dragging on, do the early third-party supporters regret not negotiating some better terms for their constituent from the government?

And of course, we have Head to Head focusing on the biggest cheaters due to the cricket scandal dominating media this week, but does the Victorian Liberal party give them a run for their money?
