In this episode, you will listen to my very lively conversation with Amina Ali, the 26-year-old who made it to the Lean In Equity & Sustainability ‘Power list’ 2022 in recognition of her achievements as one of Africa’s 50 most inspirational female energy executives. Passionate about developing Africa, she is the Group Project Coordinator for Ener-G-Africa, a company that manufactures and distributes Rocket Stoves free of charge to less privileged people across Africa. The company's work extends to the sale of peri-urban stoves, biomass pellets, and the manufacturing of solar panels.
Prior to stepping into her current role, Amina was on the Policy Committee of the South African Institute of International Affairs (SAIIA) and was also Committee Chairperson at NATMUN (National Model United Nations), United Nations Association of South Africa. She was a delegate at the World Youth Forum in Egypt, conducted research in advocacy and communications at African Union Youth Division and Is also an International Energy Fellow at the African Energy Chamber.
Amina is a graduate of the University of Pretoria where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Law & International relations, after which she obtained Post-Graduate degree in International Politics from the University of South Africa. She has also completed the Energy within Environmental constraints at the prestigious Harvard University. She is passionate about developing Africa.
