In the spirit of the "RHE" motto, we are discussing philosophical problems we find in our own position.  While it is easy to attack the positions of others, it takes a lot of good will to try to poke holes in the logic of your own ideas.  Rob made it a point to say he makes a practice of disagreed with himself.  In life, this is a good exercise. as it will ironically serve to strengthen your own position.  The great Lao Tzu said that if you don't know yourself and your enemy you will lose, if you know yourself but not your enemy you will exchange loses.  But if you know yourself and know your enemy, you will win the war.  To truly be successful,  you need to know your foes arguments better than they do.    While we do not seek to call each other enemies or foes, we are earnestly trying to see the perspective of people who we disagree with, while at the same time having understanding of the frailty of ourselves in the process.  https://anchor.fm/rhe-podcast

In this episode we are reversing the roles from the atheist grilling the Christian!  While we take on a variety of issues and philosophical musings, we managed to do so with lots of respect and contemplation.  This episode will feature several great points and counter points and it is a lot of food for thought.   While as a Christian I might not absolutely believe everything I posit, it is sometime beneficial to articulate the devils' advocate to fully understand and explore your own positions.  You will definitely see this played out in this recording.  

Join us this week as we discus Islam and Judaism with special guest Dr. Khaled Gad from Egypt.  We are committed at RHE Podcast to giving everyone a platform to express their ideas and see how we can find common ground.  This week we are talking about some similarities and differences between Christianity, Islam and Atheism.  This wan extremely respectful and informative exchange and it was a lot of fun to record.  We will be doing a follow up part 2 to  discuss a variety of other issues as well.  

This episode we are laying the foundation for the basic values that we believe in.  Though we have massive disagreements, we are coming together to try to find what we might have in common, and also to fully understand what we believe.  While we might not come to full agreement, we can agree to disagree.  However, we can learn to get along and respect that there is value in the other's thoughts and perspective!
