Throughout the Bible people waited. Some waited a few years. Others waited many years. Waiting is common for God's people. God even invites us to wait on Him. What does God do for those who wait on Him? What promises does have to those who wait? In this message we look at a number of passages that highlight what God does and the promises that He has for those who wait on Him.

In Philippians 3:20 Paul says, "We are citizens of heaven, where the Lord Jesus Christ lives. And we are eagerly waiting for him to return as our Savior."

Christmas is a time of waiting, a time when we look back and remember Israel's waiting and longing for the Messiah, and a time when we wait and long for the return of Jesus. What happens as we wait? Why do we wait? What is the purpose of waiting? In this message we look at a number of passages that speak to the reason we wait.

In Luke 17 we read about 10 lepers who were healed by Jesus, but only 1 turned back and gave thanks. As a community we want to be the one who says thanks. Towards the end of this message [beginning at 20:00] you will hear many people give thanks to God for what He's done in their lives.

One characteristic that is overlooked in the Christian life is endurance, but that is one thing highlighted throughout Scripture that God is looking for. With all that is going on in the world, is this the beginning of the end? If it is, what should our attitude be? How should we be living? Jesus answered these questions and more when he answered the disciples when they asked the same question.

Mike shares about his recent trip to the Philippines and all that Jesus did there. He also shares the lesson he learned from 1 Corinthians 2:1-5. Remember, that you are qualified, not because of anything you have done, but because of who Jesus is and the Spirit that lives inside of you.

What is going to bring Jesus the most glory? This should be the question that forms every decision we make and every act we take. In this message we talk about living a life that is contributing to the growth of the Kingdom of God. May we not compare our lives to others, but faithfully live for the glory of Jesus.

Jesus redefined greatness when he said, if you want to be great, become less. He modeled greatness when he washed his disciples feet and eventually went to the cross. Becoming less, living humbly... this should be what we are known for. In this message we talk about how the cross is not only the message of our lives but also how we live our lives. The christian life is not about climbing a ladder of success, but becoming less.

Jesus said, Do not worry, do not be anxious. Instead, seek first the Kingdom of God. Have we allowed anything in our life to come before God and His Kingdom? In this message we dive deep into that question and leave space for the Holy Spirit to search our hearts.
