Who is your neighbor? According to Jesus, we have to look outside of those who look, act, and think like us. (Luke 10:25-37)

We all have a gap between what we believe and what we live. Even Peter. Even after years of following Jesus, he needed the Good News to transform the way he saw the world around him. (Galatians 2:11-14)

There's a lot of unhealthy, toxic versions of manhood we're presented with every day. Some have made their way into the Church. Yet through the distortions, we look to Jesus as the picture of what authentic manhood truly looks like - not climbing the ladder of success, but taking up our cross. God's love isn't like the love we encounter in the world. It is steadfast, faithful love that suffers with us - the only kind of love that can sustain our realtionships through every circumstance. This is what we find in the story of Ruth, who ultimate plays a big part in the story of Jesus. (Ruth 1:1-21, Lamentations 3:22-23)

The forgiveness we receive is Christ both informs and empowers of forgiveness of others. (Luke 15:11-24, Ephesians 4:31-32)
