The APA is an organization that protects consumers from the lesser prosecuted carrier side fraud usually perpetrated by third parties hired by the carrier.  We discussed some of the more common fraudulent practices coming from carriers like doctoring reports, blanket denials, and more as well as questionable ones like adjuster roulette.  We discussed the importance of ethics and integrity in the APA as well as portals that can be used to check on disciplinary history, report engineers, and more!

We discuss the locker room talk on both sides, how to get cases closed faster, the truth about being an IA, and the pay structure plus much more!

Biggest Takeaways:
1. IA's benefit from having larger claims and making sure that they catch everything the first time.  If you can close the case on-site and educate and help them justify your line items, everyone wins. 
2. Case isn't dragged out, the insurance company saves on admin costs, contractor saves time before getting paid and IA can move on to additional cases.
3. Some line items are automatically denied because that is within their guidelines over which they have no control.  If you want to have that line item paid, state a case they can take to their managers or take your case directly to the carrier if that if they're the only one with the power to negotiate.
4. Low pricing averages are more likely due to TPA work and contractors accepting minimums
How everything goes depends on the level of documentation, justification, and true need.

In this episode, we discussed the differences between Services contracts, work auths, AOBs, letters of protection, when to use which, how to create the best file, and dos and don't of contracts.

Biggest Takeaways:

1. AOB, Work Auth, Letter of Protection or Services Contract and when to use which 
2. There are things that should be added or removed so your AOB isn’t invalid.  Having mortgage processing fees and/or leaving out the rescission provision can make your AOB invalid.
3. There is a big lack in systems for turning in contracts on time
4. Keep track of as much as you can in the way of documenting timelines, communication, etc
