Out of the Dust is the name of this incredible married duo, as well as the headline of their story. Today Chris and Steph Teague share their story of downfall, divorce, and miraculous remarriage. After two years of having a Christian, ministry-filled marriage,  Chris told Steph that he didn’t believe in God and didn’t want to be married. After getting divorced and not talking for eight months, God brought them back together in a way that can only be described as a miracle. Listen now for the behind-the-scenes look at what happened and how God used their season of brokenness to create a beautiful story of restoration.

It all started with Dr.Jennifer Degler having questions about her own sexual experience. She wanted answers to questions like, “what happened to my libido after getting married?” and “how can I have a sexually gratifying  and exciting marriage?” Today we learn that when a wife chooses to understand her body, she can cultivate sexual desire and create a newfound excitement about sex. 

For us, we get personal as Charity leads with a real scenario of her losing all sexual desire upon learning about my sexual betrayal. She asks how women can begin to heal and create safety in sex after being broken and how they can build a sense of sexual drive. We also get the privilege to ask about what a husband can do to help our wives overcome triggers during sex and how our main goal above all else is safety.

Today Josh and Jaelyn share their incredible story of restoration. Josh describes what it was like to struggle with his sexuality at a young age while having know where safe to process his feelings and questions. He married Jaelyn while still struggling with same-sex attraction and pornography, which later led to emotional affairs. Jaelyn shares how she also carried sexual brokenness and previous trauma into the relationship, which enhanced the pain they needed to work through. Is there a safe place in the church to be confused about our sexuality? If we admit to a struggle with same-sex attraction, how will our fellow Christians view us? These are the questions Zach and Kate had while growing up in the church. In this episode, Zach and Kate share how we, the body of Christ, can learn to come alongside our brothers and sisters instead of making them feel shunned and unwelcome. Unfortunately, 86% of people who identify with the LGBTQ+ movement come from a religious background. They find more love, acceptance, and support in the LGBTQ+ community than in the body of Christ. Let’s change that by removing the stigma of it being a “worse sin,” admitting our own sin, and loving and supporting our church family amid their questions and struggles.
