In Matthew 24:38–39, Jesus points back to the days of Noah—and the warning is powerful.
Before the flood came, people were living normal life. Eating. Drinking. Celebrating. Getting married. Planning tomorrow like it was guaranteed.
The problem wasn’t just wickedness.
It was distraction.
While everyone else was consumed with everyday life, Noah was building the ark. He was preparing for what was coming while the world ignored the warning.
Jesus says it will be the same before His return.
Life will feel ordinary. People will stay busy, entertained, stressed, distracted, and spiritually asleep. And that’s exactly why this matters.
The enemy doesn’t always destroy faith through direct attack. Sometimes he just keeps people distracted enough that they never think seriously about eternity.
This is a call to wake up.
Kingdom men are called to live differently—focused, watchful, grounded, and spiritually ready.
Big Question:
What distractions are slowly pulling your focus away from Christ?
Challenge:
Take inventory of what consumes your attention today—your phone, work, media, stress, or entertainment. Remove one distraction and replace that time with prayer, Scripture, or quiet time with God.
Prayer:
Lord, expose the distractions that are dulling my focus. Give me discipline, clarity, and a watchful spirit. Help me live ready, not distracted, and keep my eyes fixed on You. Amen.
