Return to the Realm

In this episode, Kayiu, Leah, and Alex pick up a new ship (the metaphorical kind) in Grag and Ekke, begrudgingly respect Bolt's philosophy even as they hate what she's doing to Wintrow and Etta, and go feral for Brashen admitting his love for Althea!

In this episode, Kayiu, Leah, and Alex continue tracking the increasing clues about Amber's true identity, meet Vivacia's draconic successor Bolt, and pray for better time for Malta and Serilla. (Even as they're extensively frustrated with Serilla's current handling of Bingtown!)

In this episode, Kayiu, Leah, and Alex, set sail on the Ship of Destiny, beginning to sympathize with Tantaglia, spending entirely too long talking about Wintrow's sausage fingers, and becoming Sterb stans! (What, you don't remember Sterb, the most important RotE character?)

In the final episode for Mad Ship, Kayiu, Leah, and Alex  rejoice in the culmination of Malta's character development and board the Reyn&Malta ship, despite Reyn's melodrama,  embrace the fantasy tropes with the heroic release of Tintaglia and the return of dragons to the world, and in classic Return to the Realm fashion make various side trips into reminiscing about other books in the series so we don't have to be done with this one.

In this penultimate episode for Mad Ship, Kayiu, Leah, and Alex are proud of Malta for coming into her own while at the same time lamenting the harrowing circumstances that continue to force her to grow up, pick apart and analyze a treasure trove of interactions between Kennit and the Charm, and pop big bottles for Wintrow freeing She Who Remembers and even BIGGER bottles for Davad finally kicking the bucket!

In this episode, Kayiu, Leah, and Alex, delight in picking apart more hints about Amber and Paragons' true identities, are disappointed by Vivacia falling for Kennit while rooting for Etta's character development, and hover with anticipation as our delegation from Jamilla finally arrives in Bingtown!

Hey y'all! We took a bit of an extended break for the holidays, but we're back for the new year better than ever, with a backlog of episodes we're super excited to share with y'all!

In this episode, Kayiu, Leah, and Alex, relate to Wintrow as they can do nothing but watch as Vivacia falls for Kennit's manipulations, struggle along with Brashen and Althea as they navigate both the grueling task of getting Paragon seaworthy and their tangled feelings for each other, and diagnose Kennit with Needs To Play The Sims Syndrome.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Hey guys! This is Kayiu - while we were filming this episode a few weeks ago, I was in the middle of moving houses, which is why there's no facecam for me this episode. Also, while moving, I lost a hard drive with the audio files for this episode, so I've had to try and recover it from my local audio. That means the audio quality is going to be scuffed for a portion of this episode - I tried my best to fix it, but there wasn't much I could do. That being said, I think that content-wise, this is one of the best episodes we've recorded, so I hope y'all push through it and check it out regardless!

In this episode, Kayiu, Leah, and Alex, discuss the first time Hobb says fuck, circle the perennial conflict of Kennit, (ie how much do intentions vs results matter?) get the first bombshells of Kennit's backstory, and reach the Actual Start of the story with Amber & Brashen's plan to repair Paragon!

In this episode, Kayiu, Leah, and Alex  experience a combination of dread and excitement, as characters and event begin to converge... but in ways that aren't so great for our heroes and for Bingtown as a whole. Althea's home, but Ronica, Keffria, and Malta aren't too happy about her decision to run away and what she's done since. Brashen discovers Vivacia's fate, but is deep into piracy and cindin, reverting to his old ways. Serilla's on her way to Bingtown, but will she survive the trip there when forced into close proximity with Cosgo? All the while, slavery's roots entrench themselves further into Bingtown. But hey, at least they get their first mention of Selden this book!

In this episode, Kayiu, Leah, and Alex do an Ophelia and ship Grag and Althea, continue to be frustrated by Ronica's hypocrisy and Davad's incompetence, and pull back the curtain on what's going on in Jamaillia.
