Satan has weapons that he tries to use against us. He will try to ensnare us with sexual immorality, doubt, fear, busyness, pride, self righteousness, and unforgiveness.

But we have armor for the spiritual

Although David was the least of all his brothers, God had chosen and anointed him. Psalm 101 records David's thoughts as he began his kingship.

David made a decision to go all out for God and refuse all compromise. In the same way, all of us who are chosen and anointed need to continue to dedicate our lives to God.

Psalms 1 and 2 give us an introduction to the book of Psalms. They show us the heart that knows God - a heart that seeks God and the things of God.

A good heart rejects the counsel of the world and meditates on what God says. This kind of heart will experience the goodness, character, wisdom and companionship of the Lord.

God gives us prophetic signs. Today there are more signs than ever that indicate that the end times and the coming of Jesus are near. Persecution is increasing, knowledge and technology abound, apostasy is occurring, and oppressive governmental and economic controls are appearing.

It is time to be ready.

Our prayers can be alive and effective - or they can be repetitive and boring. The Bible says that fervent and sincere prayer will work.

How do we pray? Do we pray prayers of the Kingdom?

We have a good shepherd. Our good shepherd leads us, and wants to take us into new pastures. But new things are uncomfortable to us.

When we hear his voice, what will we do? Will we follow?

Our soul needs a shepherd. Our shepherd makes us lie down … leads us … and restores us.

Are you trying to solve your own problems? He has a way of making us lie down and come into his rest.

David knew about shepherds - he knew sheep needed them. The Lord Jesus is our shepherd, being the provision for everything we need.

Real sheep know they cannot care for themselves. They follow the shepherd, and not a stranger. These sheep find that a complete relationship with God satisfies completely.

God in himself is a community; the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit. God created us for community. We need him, we need his word, and we need each other.

Why do we isolate ourselves? When we are doing well, we need each other. When we are not doing well, we need each other.

Together, we succeed. “It is not good for man to be alone.”

God often allows storms in our lives. The question in our storm is this: “Will we trust him?” He knows what he is doing, even if it is not what we want at that time.

He knows what is best for us, and he is faithful.
