Many of us have been disappointed by respected Christian leaders that have failed. Were these men saved? Can a saved person become unsaved?

When you are in the hands of Jesus, you are secure (John 10:27, Romans 8:38). Yet we need to continue in the faith to the end (Colossians 1:21-23, Romans 11:22).

The answer? Let us walk with Jesus with all of our hearts.

Jesus was touched by the Father and filled with the Spirit. “You are my son”. And what followed?

Temptation and trial. And after Jesus withstood the temptations, he returned “in the power of the Spirit”.

Trials bring God’s power for those who seek him.

The apostle Paul said “I want to know him.” What does that mean? The Western church today believes that correct intellectual knowledge about God is the same as knowing God.

But knowing God is not just head knowledge. It is continuously increasing in intimacy with God. Without that increasing intimacy, we will have information without experience, knowledge without power.

Pastor Dave and Cathy shared their experience during a 40 day retreat in the mountains of Tennessee. In the middle of their fears and insecurities, God showed them his love.

The Father wants to spend intimate time with us.

Life can be exhausting and painful, especially when God has promised something and it has not happened. So what do we do while waiting for God?

Psalm 105 is a psalm of remembrance. It recalls how God makes a promise; then there is a struggle; then a transformation; and then there is a fulfillment.

People who love God do not have a compartmental life. They do not just love God on Sunday. They love God with all of their lives.

This includes serving others -- being an active part of the body of Christ.

Psalm 119 is the longest chapter in the Bible. It is all about the Word of God. God’s word brings blessing, peace, security, freedom from shame, power, and life saving truth.

The Word of God and the love of God live together. If you love God, you will love his word.
