Ever wondered what Heaven is really like? In Revelation 4, the Apostle John is invited to step through the door of Heaven and catch a jaw-dropping glimpse of God's Throne Room. Get ready for sensory overload as John describes the sights, sounds, and glory of God’s presence!

First, did you know there are THREE Heavens described in Scripture?

1️⃣ The First Heaven – is Earth’s sky and atmosphere. 2️⃣ The Second Heaven – is outer space. The sun, moon, and stars. 3️⃣ The Third Heaven – is God’s home. This is the dwelling place of the Almighty, where John is taken in Revelation 4!

So, what is the Glory of Heaven like? John’s description is other-wordly! Heaven is dazzling beyond description. Here’s an overview of all John sees and hears:

💚 An emerald aura radiates from God’s throne. Ruby-red and purple flashes dance across the scene. The Almighty’s throne is pulsating with brilliant color and light!

 👑 24 thrones with elders surround God's throne, representing all believers throughout all time, united in worship.

 🔥 Seven blazing lamps represent the fullness of the Holy Spirit and the light of the Church. ⚡ Thunder and lightning boom from the throne. Pure, unfiltered power shaking Heaven itself! 🌊 A sea of glass, clear as crystal, lies before God—symbolizing perfect peace in His presence.

And then, we discover that worship is the central activity in Heaven. Day and night, endlessly, all Creation cries out “Holy, Holy Holy!” When you stand before God’s Throne one day, you won’t have any choice but to worship. In fact, the whole purpose of your life RIGHT NOW is worship!  

This image of the Throne Room of Heaven is so encouraging. Revelation 4 reminds us, when things seem out of control on Earth: God is in complete control in Heaven!
