Our interview with Ole Martin Årst! With no football to chat about we spend today's episode chatting with former Tromso, Start, Anderlecht, Gent & Standard Liege forward Ole Martin Årst who just so happens to have a bar named after him in Gent having scored 30 goals in 32 league games in the 99/00 season in Belgium.

The world is falling apart, countries are in lockdown and no football is currently being played (well, mostly). But, we're back for another episode this week to fill the football shaped void in our listeners' lives. On the show this week we talk about the pandemic & it's consequences for Norwegian football, we look at some new signings into the Eliteserien and also add 3 (three) new names into our Eliteserien Hall of Fame. Sarpsborg 08's Sporting Director Thomas Berntsen joins us on the show this week to talk about a tonne of subjects ranging from 'How to replace Geir Bakke' to 'Why exactly is Kristoffer Zachariassen so so good?' and much, much more.

As pre-season rumbles on, we go over the latest news in Norway as well as induct our first two players into the 'Reverse Nisselue Eliteserien Hall of Fame'. Guest on the show this week is the brilliant Kristian Thorstvedt, now of KRC Genk but formerly of Viking. Kristian chats with us about his time in Belgium so far, as well as his cup final win with Viking last season. More importantly... We find out which goal he rates as his best; Is it his goal vs. former side Stabaek in the Eliteserien or his goal in the NM Cupen semi-final against Ranheim?

In the second episode of our 2020 season, we have an extended interview with former Rosenborg, Brann, Stabaek, Real Socieded, Celta Vigo & Frankfurt defender Vadim Demidov. Vadim speaks to us about growing up as a handball player before choosing football as a career to pursue. Vadim takes us through his career history, with varying highs and lows. The now infamous Minnesota United stint also gets a mention, as Vadim tells us what went wrong there. The Bens take us through their 9 breakout stars to keep tabs on this season, players who could well have a huge impact for their respective clubs this season.

Our first episode of 2020! We return with a bumper episode, chatting about pre-season in Norway so far. Who has made the most interesting signings? (errr...) and which new managers could change the fortunes of their new clubs? We tackle listener questions covering much of the usual pre-season chit chat for the bulk of the show, before an extended interview with former Kongsvinger manager Luis Pimenta, who led his side to the NM Cupen final in 2016. Luis chats to us about his upbringing, how he got started in football, that unbelievable Kongsvinger stint as well as harder times of late with Brommapojkarna and Riga FC.

It's not every week the Norwegian National Team Vice-Captain agrees to an interview. Exciting show this week as we chat to Olympiacos & Norway full-back Omar Elabdellaoui about his career (so far), including his time at Skeid and Manchester City as well as an in-depth chat about the current state of the Norwegian National Team. Before that, we moan about Tom Nordlie's appointment as *interim* LSK manager for their upcoming relegation play-off matches and also go over our Eliteserien Team of the Season. Bumper show this week as we are joined in the London office (broom cupboard) by Tom Dent of FK Bodø/Glimt and Anders Fredriksen formerly of Sarpsborg 08. We chat about all things B-Lag, the development of young players and their paths to the first team as well as some sympathy for Smerud & his U'21 side. We also chat about pie-gate, with Tom being one of the guys behind the elaborate prank on our own Ben Wells. Later in the episode, Stabæk defender Yaw Amankwah joins us to discuss his career so far from OBOS Ligaen to the Superligaen and now the Eliteserien. Yaw also speaks in detail on mental health and preparation in Norwegian football and what more needs to be done in the country to adequately prepare players for the demands of being a professional athlete.

It's the international break & all the tedium that comes with it. However, we look over an interesting couple of fixtures for Norway who faced up against the Faroe Islands and Malta in two matches that may not have meant a lot in terms of qualification, but a lot in terms of the future direction of this National Team. Should Lars Lagerbäck continue leading the squad past this qualification cycle? Why are so many players being played out of position in Norway's 4-4-2 formation? Our exclusive guest this week is Haugesund's midfield maestro and probable Eliteserien 'Team of the Yearer' Sondre Tronstad who speaks to us about his exceptional season & development as a player whilst playing for Huddersfield in England. Sondre also talks us through 'That goal' vs. Odd in the cup semi-final and the differences between Jostein Grindhaug & Eirik Horneland. In the second Reverse Nisselue episode, we round up all the action from the final round of the OBOS Ligaen as well as complain about the various offences the NFF has committed this week. Ben Killick names his OBOS Ligaen team of the season before we chat to NSA Spokesperson Gjert Moldestad about the usage of pyro in Norwegian stadiums & the NFF's many failures of communication. Later in the show, special guest Sean McDermott of Kristiansund BK comes on to chat to us about all things Norwegian football as well as cover his experiences at Dinamo Bucharest & why he IS better than Andre Hansen.
