Bill doesn't think he's seen it before and brings a few bad reviews along.Bill and Sean stupidly decide to try and apply logic to the film and ask important questions such as: -What was with the goofy humour? -Would this film have been received more favourably if it came out in the 90's? -What does waffle/waffling mean? February 20, 2022Ace Ventura: Pet Detective (1994) with 'Wait... What? Podcast'.Guesting this week are Liam, David and Mitchell from Wait…What!? Podcast. With 5 minutes Sean has stumbled across a VHS copy of Batman & Robin (1997), which disgusts Liam. The trio and Sean ponder whether Post Companies use this film as a training video. The guys get serious (for about five minutes) to discuss the parts of the film which would never be seen as acceptable in a film today. The episodes then descends into a discussion about the Watford Gap, VAR, and the football. Thanks to the trio for coming onto my podcast. Thanks for listening. February 17, 2022Shallow Hal (2001) with my MamDespite her reservations Sean's Mam loved the film. -They discuss the themes of the film, along with the Home Alone remake (WHY?), and the late, great Alan Rickman's surprising turn doing pantomime (I'm pretty sure it wasn't him). Listen through to the end on this one! Thanks for listening....more27minPlay
February 17, 2022Shallow Hal (2001) My Mam's Pre-conceptionsIn a 'Pre-conceptions' episode, Sean's mam joins the podcast to discuss the film Shallow Hal. Having never seen it before she briefly explains why she's never fancied watching it. Tangents include:-Roy Kinnear-Impromptu nights out-American, Sean Connery and Willy Wonka impressions thrown in for good measure. They also attempt to answer: -What is Hal short for? -What is a vestigial tail? February 15, 2022"Mr Blobby has a baby!?" Tangent with 'Wait... What? Podcast'."We can go...we can just go": These words give Sean the green light to go into a full-on tangent once again. What follows is a glorious tangent about Mr Blobby, the (terrifying) 1990's children's TV character, or "Nightmare Fuel" as Liam puts it.Sean kicks it off by asking Liam, David and Mitchell what's annoyed them today towards the end of the Ace Venture (1994) review. This begins a conversation about Millennial technology, which somehow ends up at Mr Blobby. Thanks for listening! Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information....more40minPlay
February 12, 2022Unbreakable (2000) with Mark from 'Visually Stunning Movie Podcast'.Sean and Mark from the 'Visually Stunning Movie Podcast' review Unbreakable (2000).They ask: -Is this a film about depression or identity? -Was Split (2016) a back-door sequel to this film in order to make a proper sequel in Glass (2019)? Whilst pondering these questions Mark teaches Sean some basic American Football facts before they dive into the world of M. Night Shyamalan films. Thanks for listening! February 11, 2022Hopes for the future of Doctor Who: A tangent with Mark from 'Visually Stunning Movie Podcast'.Taking a detour from their review of Unbreakable (2000), Sean and Mark discuss the return of Doctor Who under the control of RTD. They talk the different accents since Doctor Who returned in 2005 and their hopes that the show can reach the highest heights once again.Sean completely messes up the Geography- incorrectly stating where Jodie Whittaker was from (She is from a part of Huddersfield) whilst Doctor Who has been based in Sheffield as of late. He compounds this by then getting parts of Yorkshire mixed up. Absolutely disgraceful. The opinions in this podcast are purely my own and come from a place of love for the show (as I'm sure do Mark's) and sadness to see it struggling in the ratings and having arguably lost it's way. February 08, 2022Never Too Late (2022)Struggling to think of a way to start this week's episode, Sean reads out the British Board of Classification's rating of the film and the air turns blue. He manages to somehow compare this film to Chicken Run and talks about the film's beautiful message. A film with heart, great acting and laugh-out-loud moments, this is well worth going to see! Thanks for listening! This podcast contains strong language. BBFC Quoted from: Never Too Late | BBFC Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information....more18minPlay
